I want to make an equip spell with stronger effect than United We Stand, but with higher cost.
Enjoy, and don't forget to leave comment.

If you equip this card to a monster, you can discard up to 5 cards from your Hand (you can activate this effect anytime); the equipped monster gains ATK equal to the number of discarded cards x1000. If this card would be removed from the Field, you can Send 1 monster you control (except the equipped monster) to the Graveyard instead.

The name is pretty cool i think, fit with its effect.

Cards in your hand are valuable, and discarding them aimlessly for this is a bad move (probably even in Fableds). And even if you use it, you wouldn't discard more than 1, making this a bad Axe of Despair. I would suggest a +1000 to whatever boost (discarding 1 makes a 2000 boost, 2 for 3000, etc), but I am cringing at the idea (it probably isn't that broke, but it might be used for OTKs like Megamorph).

And then there's the fact that as a Spell that stays on the field, this can and will be destroyed easily. I'm guessing a "discard 1 to save this card from destruction" effect would be nice (save the equip, not the monster. A +2k Equip that gives destruction immunity if you have cards in your Hand is also making me cringe).

Well then it's just Rising Energy the spell card. Rising Energy is horrible, and anything requiring a discard cost needs to have an amazing effect that deserves the cost. I'm talking an effect better than Lightning Vortex.

Something like this:

"Increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 1000. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can discard 1 card; increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 1500 until the end of the turn. When the equipped card destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Destroy 1 card on the field. Once per turn: If this card or the equipped card would be destroyed: You can discard 1 card instead."

@background Really nice effect, though i think the destroy a monster and pop a card is a bit much. That effect can make any frog run over a blue eyes combine that with a free card destruction equals overkill (i may be exaggerating but whatever :P). Take out the destruction and i think it would be balance enough.

It was just an example of how powerful discard costs have to be to be worth it. Removing that would just have a beatstick running around, and beatsticks aren't that good.

And I just remembered: Is the fact that the OP compared this to United We Stand supposed to be a reference about when he said Anti-Raigeki can kill United We Stand?

Did not get ur top post, so i will post accordingly with United We Stand in mind while COMPLETELY ignoring ur post (if you want, just ignore this next paragraph)
United is really dependent on your opponent's Deck. United is useless against stall decks or those decks that make you draw and mill (BEHOLD MY KNOWLEDGE :P), they would only have 1-2 monsters at a time. Honest, this card seems more useful to me. Also, i don't think discard is a huge cost (brio).

Beatsticks aren't good? > : P, a lot of top tier decks focus on beat with support cards to swarm them (Dragons, Synchros. Xyz, etc. people just like power)

United is useless against those decks because they sit behind a wall of cards that stop battles, not because your opponent has hardly any monsters to fuel it (it doesn't even work that way). The reason United is used over Axe of Despair is because you can easily have more than one monster on the field, and if you don't the 800 can probably suffice. Axe, while provides 1000 (more than 800), doesn't give anything for having more than one monster and stays at 1000. And Brio is broken because it's a discard-1-clear-something-off-the-field effect. This only pops one card, and that's after it kills something in battle. Brio just returns everything your opponent has and says "LolGG." And pure-beaters aren't good. Having good ATK is nice, but most of the things that help a deck win are the effects of the cards that get cards on and off of the field.

Did you not heed thy warning, I said that Paragraph (by this i mean whole post) wiith no regards to the post on top.
About the beaters thing, PURE beaters are not good, when did i say they were o.0. You said beaters (this means ALL of them) aren't that good. For sake of trying to not get this conversation too serious, here is this

For fear of being too off topic i will end post here and no longer dwell in this subject (the beater/discard thingy)

It turns your monster into Slifer the Sky Dragon.

Okay.

Even with protection I can't fathom sending away resources and possibilities from my hand just to gain a boost. I mean the monster could still be bounced,D-Prison'd...etc. and then poof your future is gone. And this card can't get an effect that keeps the monster safe because then its just a broken beatstick maker and like stated before given to the right monster it just becomes an OTK card.

It actually turns the monster into a reverse Slifer the Sky Dragon, because it gains 1000 ATK for every discarded card.

OT: this card is an OTK creator,
It can also cause you to lose as well e.g Attack, opponent activates Something like magic cylinder

maybe change the effect to be "The Equipped monster gains 500 ATK for every card in your hand. Once Per turn, if the Equipped monster would be Destroyed, you can Discard 1 card from your hand to negate the Destruction of the monster. During the End Phase of a turn that this Effect was Activated, Draw 1 card."

Yup, the controller must be prepared when using this kind card
If i'm in the position, i can use Heavy Storm when there's no face-down monster on the field (in order to make sure there's no Card Effect than can negate it).
This kind of card can be used by aggressive type of player (doesn't mean stupid), of course the player must use it when the timing is correct..OTK, end the game, risky, but worth the cost..

Deffensive type won't into this kind of card i think

Take a look at the card below (my sig), that card can make a good OTK when using this equip Spell LOL...
