Fiendish Chain

Why does everyone on the DN forums think this is a mained staple at 3 like in every deck this format ._.

Not all of DN is idiots. Their main appeal is just the TCG so the idiots take part in that. Just like how YCM's main appeal is the cardmaker so the idiots take part in that.

OT: Like Star, I much prefer Chalice to this. That 400 can actually make a difference.

Veiler does not work in the Battle Phase and does not prevent attacks. It can be stopped by D-Fissure/Macro Cosmos. Fiendish Chain does not work against monsters who leave the field as a cost for effects. Nor is it a LIGHT Tuner for Synchros and Graveyard setup. Plus it can be blown up by MST.

Both are good against Inzektors and strong against Wind-Ups. Dino Rabbit can't play Royal Decree and can play Macro Cosmos to block Veiler, and can play Lance to block Chain temporarily (plus Rabbit and its Normal Monsters can't be hurt with Chain). Chaos Dragon and Gishki are hurt more by Chain. Hieratics are hurt slightly more by Veiler.

I dunno.

I try not to keep myself very stacked against Dark Worlds regardless; the less I have on the field during their turn, the better. Less targets to hit. It's a very difficult Deck to play against for me, what with my inability to build a Side Deck properly. :(

Sportsfact: If Neos Alius hits the field before Skill Drain it will be immune to Fiendish Chain (because neither Trap Card will recognize it as an Effect Monster). If Skill Drain was out first you can use Fiendish Chain on Alius (because the effect to treat it as a Normal Monster is negated).

I run HEROes. Macro Cosmos shuts down half of my plays with ease by making Miracle Fusion, HERO Blast, etc. completely worthless.

Fiendish Chain forms a pseudo-lock with [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Soul_Drain"]Soul Drain[/url]. I'd recommend Soul Drain or Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror.

Does Soul Drain stop Dark Worlds/Hornet from activating?

Yeah, I was going to say I don't really see what it counters. Then again, I guess with Soul Drain and Skill Drain out, there isn't much that can be activated at all.

Also the negation from Thunder King Rai-Oh or Doomcal, Mystic Piper, Hand of the Six Samurai, and the Koa'ki Meiru Rock guys. Not that many but Rai-Rey see much play, and none of these are blocked by Fiendish Chain.
