Today, I used [Effect Veiler] on vanadiumd

Recommended Posts

I know I'm going to get attacked for saying this, but I'm starting to like it less and less. Maybe it's just my local area, but it's useless in so many matchups, and I find Fiendish Chain to be a significantly better option. I find it decreases consistency and slows down plenty of my plays when I'd rather just keep it sided at the most. The only thing I'd even wish I had it for is Wind-Ups.

I think Konami should just limit it, just to discourage people from using this card and use those extra spaces in the deck for something more self-sufficient.

If there weren't so many powerhouse monsters, people wouldn't be encouraged to run this in multiples.

So... kill everything but veiler then? [/exaggeration]

Yeah. The main reason veiler is so commonly used is because of monsters with stupid overpowered effects. Just like how DD Crow was mained when there was a lot of emphasis on grave and grave revival.

I've personally never decided whether this was good design or not. I mean, it's basically a meta-specific counter that makes a star appearance once or twice every few formats.

Still, Crow and Veiler are probably the most interactive hand traps still they do require you to think about your opponent's moves much more than the others.

I'll go with decent card design, but nothing extraordinary.

Speaking of Crow, it makes me sad that I haven't seen crow in play for nearly two years. :(
OT: Veiler is one of my favorite cards. Because it shits on wind-ups and every other top tier decks.

Useless against Heroes, Sams, Chaos Dragons, and DWs. I don't like this card one bit, and if it wasn't for the herp derp Handloop, Inzektor +4, and Rabbit + set 4 cards, I wouldn't even consider maining it.

Edit: Forgot the Hieratic OTK cannon. This game is atrocious.

That's the nature of the card. There's nothing wrong with that.

If a card can fall in and out of play without being outclassed in its job, it's generally positive design.

I'm actually going to take back my previous point in a previous post, and say it's actually pretty good design.

I never said it was bad design, I said that I wouldn't run it if I didn't have broken crap I had to counter.
