Next, you must show whether the first effect is optional or mandatory. [quote&name="Storm Dragon"]1 Tuner + 2 or more non-Tuner monsters When this card is Summoned: [color=#800080]You can[/color] Tribute 1 [color=#00ff00]other[/color] Level 4 or higher monster; this card can attack directly this turn.[/quote] If you take out the purple text, it becomes Mandatory (you HAVE to Tribute a monster). If you take out the purple text and the green text, and you Summon this card on an empty field, nothing will happen because it cannot Tribute itself to apply an effect to itself (basic game mechanic). The final effect, being Continuous, should be written before the direct-attack effect to avoid confusion. It can go a few different ways. Even if you make its Materials 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters, players will generally play your cards the simplest way possible. In this case, with a Level 2 monster, a Level 3 monster, and [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Debris_Dragon"]Debris Dragon[/url]. When this card is Summoned: You can Tribute 1 other Level 4 or higher monster; this card can attack directly this turn. [/quote] And the Combo Plate: easy to keep alive. Using the word "and" makes it obvious that having no cards in your hand won't kill Storm Dragon if you have cards on the field. If you used "or", there might be confusion.
