So basically, some crazy SOB shot up a Sikh temple, they're not sure why as of the typing of this post. It's terrible. :'/

The thing that really gets me is that we never may find out what exactly drove the shooter to do such a horrible thing. He pulled a suicide by cop, so unless we find things out about his psyche, this community will never know why they were the targets of such an awful act of violence. It could have just as easily been mental illness on the part of the shooter instead of anti-Sikhism.

Actually, it's very likely that it was not anti-Sikhism, but anti-Islam would actually be more likely, because a lot of people get them mixed up on account of the turban and blind stereotyping.

It's happened before.

Intolerant people make me sick. No one deserves to die for what they believe in.

Same here bro. Yet it happens all the time, across all religions.
despite the similarities
This is particularly ingratiating because the only similarities Sikhism and Islam are only superficial: in fact, Sikhism was historically opposed to the Muslim idea of forced conversion and was a driving force behind taking down the Mughal Empire. I mean, really. The only reason that people'd confuse the two is that the majority of practitioners have somewhat similar skin tones.

And in the nation of the United States, people have to go more by standard appearance to know what they are dealing with. Because people here are more focused on skin tone to show their culture, people are quick to assume something completely wrong. That's pretty sad.

If directed towards me, apologies for being a bigot. I meant physically, but I guess that would've come off as wrong in some manner no matter how I posted it. /u_u\

Eh, don't mind it. After all, it really isn't your fault that 1st world countries focus their priorities on the person's appearance over what is more to the person. It is, unfortunately, the kind of world we live in.
