Because we have the next list [Veiler]

Recommended Posts

As I have expressed once before, I hate this card because of how forced running it has been this last format. However, according to the "official" September list we have, the major decks Veiler blocks have been shot in the knee. The major decks that were not hit, Dark World and Laval, are not as vulnerable to the pesky hand trap. The up and coming Atlanteans are most vulnerable in their diva plays, which are by no means the deck's only play. Veiler does stave off gungnir, but not the effects of the discard fodder used for the dragon's effect. Also, book of moon is now at two. Will its greater versatility outshine Veiler as a play stopper?

Veiler does have a couple things going for it. A second pot of avarice makes it more reusable. Also, tour guide has not been hit, will the Demon's use still be so wide spread that Veiler is needed to quell it?

Will Veiler still be at two or more in every main deck? Or will it find a new home in the side deck as Maxx C did before it? Discuss Effect Veiler's use next format.

I think people will still main 1-2
[/quote]This. Decks will still run it because, honestly, it's just a good card.

The question on "will people run it at all" should probably be given to Chalice. That's one that will definitely see a drop in play. Lance stays fresh though.

tbh I think it'd be better to main Maxx "C" instead of this next format, simply because the top decks now won't be using effects that you can hit via Veiler. (i.e. HEROes, Atlanteans, Dark Worlds, etc) Either this or D.D. Crow. I could honestly see D.D. Crow being mained if it becomes that much of a Graveyard oriented format.

I would agree with this. Maxx C seems like it could become more useful again, but only time will tell.
