This website / YCM is going down / hi I'm Cinnabon

My only real achievement on this site is most likely improving showcase, and making it what it is now. (I think so at least).
My failure is ironically not doing enough for showcase to keep it active and ensure stability (regardless if that could have been done or not). That and not becoming the moderator the section desperately needs, I don't think I could have done anything differently to achieve that either, however I suppose that's something that's still achievable and something I will continue to work toward.

A list of achievements? I don't have many save for my buds and a handful of decent cards I made some ages ago.

Failures? I could list them, but I might crash the forum. Just to name a few: I never married Raven in the marriage thread SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long ago. I didn't uphold my promised to James (r.i.p.) to keep his and my namesake in the ORG 13 Club.

I can honestly say, if I did anything to better this site, I don't know if it. I have a big head, anger issues, an a lot of s*** that keeps me from being from help. HAHA I was a detriment. Minus the few changes I partook in (the votes that got the RP section revamped and s*** like that) I don't recall.

But there area few people I still keep in touch with. Amethyst is still as hilarious as ever. Shadius has become a great personal friend of mine. And Icy and I are still closest of friends. But yeah, YCM.

oh hai <3

I remember that one!
Somehow I remember many specific things from pre-2010 or so, but less afterwards.
But you were always cool.

I've been a member here for nearly two years now and in that time I have achieved very little. I've posted a few cards up, mostly written cards, participated in a fair few RPs, read and posted replies for a few fics that interest me, played a few games in the games section and joined some clubs that i've rarely set foot in since. That being said, I haven't had many failures either, a couple of RPs that i've had to drop out of because I don't have enough time or because everyone else just forgets me, and that's about it. I've done relatively little to help out the server, maybe a bit in a couple of RPs, where i spend most of my time, but not much else. Also, while I do have skype, I have made very few friends on this site and have no-one as a friend on my skype either. I'm another one of those people who tend to be more of a lurker on the site.

...not sure if I should be offended by not being on your list or not...
I've been talking to you since day one D:<

But yeah.
I joined in 2007. Less than a year after the site was actually created. So I guess I don't really need to explain much when I say that I've seen it all here. Was a normal member for about a year and a half. Was quickly promoted to a moderator of Custom cards (Still going as Yankee back then). Less than 6 months later, I was promoted to super mod. I still remember DJ Osiris, Wolfberserker, Bloodrun (who I still talk to), Glasstin10, and especially Tkill93 and God Kaze. I miss those days.
In all honesty, I hate the new demographic of YCM. Sure, there are a few good members, but it's nowhere near as diverse as it used to be. Tkill93 being all around, especially in General. God Kaze in Realistic Cards, being the God he was. Glasstin posting just about everywhere, being the resident nice guy. Wolfberserker in Showcase, and many others. Now there are a few notable members, but they all seem to just...meld together.

No, I'm not saying YCM is dying. It's not. It happens every year or so. People freak out. Change happens. This member base will leave soon enough, and be replaced with a new demographic. Such is the life of YCM. Short life spans. Some better than others.

To answer the questions:

What are your "achievements"/"failures" on this site?

I was once the most popular member here for some reason. Was the quote "king" of custom cards. Eventually quit that, but was promoted to moderator because of my ability there, I guess. So yeah. Became a mod. Pretty much stuck around since then.
As for failures...I guess it could be that I don't think I've lived up to the hype that surrounded my promotion to moderator. It's probably more of a personal thing, given that I was supported by the entire member base. It's hard to live up to the standards of an entire forum. So I guess my failure could be considered nothing more than a personal reaction to the pressure.

Where do you think did you lend a hand and help the site change for the better?

Honestly wish I had a good answer here. I'd like to say I changed custom cards. However, any and all lessons Icyblue, DJ Osiris, JMax, and myself taught to the CC crowd seems to be forgotten.
I'd like to think I've done some good, but it's not really anything that I can say. That's for others to decide. You can't write name in to the history books. That's for others to do.

Did you meet people and stay in touch with them?

Bloodrun.

Nothing like being left off your list :'(

Not really sure; but I've met a ton of cool people that I don't really keep in contact with much anymore. There's like 1-3 members from each new "generation" of YCMembers that stick around, but for the most part its like a 6-month cycle.

Thunder-
y u constantly change names, Star </3

I'm surprised at how seriously people take my threads (at least of this sort) and diligently follow the questions in the first post.

But I can basically answer all of them shortly: I think one thing I did sort-of-well during these years was running these events.
They were mostly holiday specials, YCM Nightly, YCM Awards, etc. But they went well and I don't regret doing any of them. It's a bit unfortunate that the activity on the site is so low lately, so running any sorts of bigger events wouldn't make much sense right now.

I regret not marrying Eros Thanatos (what was your name back then ._. I remember that silly thread, but not your name goddamn D:), but that's about it. :D

Also, what happened to Krow?._. The last thing I saw was that "pool's closed" thing that made me laugh into my pants for days, but never saw him again.

My biggest "achievement" was probably finishing an RP trilogy. My biggest "failure" was probably not continuing it on from there well enough given I left it open-ended :C

I dunno lol

I talk to a few people from here from time to time.

It was Xemnas way back when. Org. 13 first popped up when that thread happened. Ah the nostalgia.
