Scene 1:

 

 

(Background: black, stars, milkyway)

 

 

Background Voice:

 

A story, one anyone can read, only becomes on adventure if you have imagination and will. Once children stop reading, the story dies. If all the stories die, it will take one special person to bring them back to life. And release the light.

 

( cast list, title, song)

 

 

 

Scene 2:

 

( Bastian in class sleeping, bell rings, he wakes up)

 

Teacher:

Now I want you all to finish reading chapter 10. Bastians please, stay, behind. I’m very disappointed with you these days. You used to be so good at your work now you’re just giving up. It’s like you’ve filled up with such darkness and hate that you don’t care anymore. I mean your sleeping in the teachers class’s and you don’t even ask questions. I supposed you know that this means another phone call to your parents, and that you’ll have to take the test again for the 5 time. I’m sorry to say but if you don’t finish this test your going to fail this course.

 

Bastian:

I know.

 

(children leave, Bastian walks outside, sister spots him)

 

Nicole:

Hey Bastian wait up. Mom says that you have to always walk me home.

 

(Bastian looking depressed stared at his test)

 

 

Nicole:

Well at least your doing well in math.

 

Bastian:

Yeah what ever.

 

Bastian:

Having to baby sit you isn’t helping.

 

Nicole:

Well you can't baby sit me if I get home and lock you out.

 

(Bastian runs past Nicole)

 

(Bastian runs into the house and locks the door)

 

(Nicole bangs on the door, Bastian's dad comes down the stairs)

 

Barney:

Bastian let your sister in.

 

Bastian:

Fine.

 

(Nicole run towards the door, Bastian opens it, Nicole goes flying, Bastian starts laughing)

 

Nicole:

Why you!

 

(Nicole tackles Bastian, mom comes in)

 

Jane:

Bastian stop turturing your sister, and Nicole stop beating up your brother.

 

(Nicole gets off of Bastian)

 

Nicole:

So whats for dinner mom?

 

Jane:

Nothing unless you finish your homework.

 

Nicole:

But MOM!

 

Jane:

Nicole at least spend an hour on your homework, and then we will talk about dinner. By homework I mean acctually picking up a pencil and writing something. Oh and don't forget to study for that biology test you have.

 

( Nicole stomps upstairs into her room)

 

( Bastian tries to sneak outside, but gets cought by his dad)

 

Barney:

Bastian, don't you have homework to do too.

 

Bastian:

Ah! Got you there dad. I finished it.

 

Barney:

I heard about your English test marks. I want you to go and study. And you have to clean up your room. You said you would for the past 2 weeks. And every day it gets messier.

 

Bastian:

Fine!

 

(Bastian sluggishly walks up to his room)

 

(He opens the door and is hit by the powerful smell of sweat and durt)

 

Bastian:

Wow I really do need to clean up around here.

 

 

Scene 3

 

 

( Nicole walks into the room)

 

Nicole:

Wow! It smells like someone died in a pool of rotten milk.

 

Bastian:

What do you want little snooper?

 

Nicole:

I need help on this math question.

 

Bastian:

Fine, if I give you the answer will you go?

 

Nicole:

Yes!

 

( Bastian looks at Nicoles question and gives her the answer, Nicole leaves)

 

( Bastians dad knocks on the door and walks in)

 

Barney:

Can I come in?

 

Bastian:

Sure.

 

Barney:

I got you a present.

 

Bastian:

But dad its to early.

 

Barney:

Well its the only day I could get it.

 

Bastian:

Thanks!

 

Barney: Well open it!

 

( Bastian takes the gift and opens it)

 

 

Bastian:

Its The Neverending Story!

 

Barney:

I thought you would like it. Mr. Coreander was having a book sale. He gave it to me half off because he thought you'd want it. Something about you always having an adventure when you read it.

 

Bastian:

Thanks so much!

 

( Barney starts to leave, but then turns back)

 

Barney:

Bastian I really want you to pass your course. If you don’t you’ll probably have to repeat the courses and go to summer school. Oh and I still want this room cleaned up.

 

Bastian:

Ok.

 

( Barney leaves)

 

Bastian:

Wow The Neverending Story!

 

 

 

Scene 4:

 

( Bastian looks at the book and watches as aryuen glows into his hand)

 

( He hears a voice)

 

Voice:

Bastian... Bastian... Fantasia wants you back. Come back Bastian... We miss you. Bastian

 

Bastian:

Well what could it hurt. I wont be gone long. Just a visit. But I better leave Nicole a note.

 

( Bastian writes note and sticks under Nicoles door)

 

( Bastian opens the book and gets sucked in)

 

Scene 5

 

( Bastian falls from the sky and lands on the ground with a thump)

 

Bastian:

Wow... First landings are tough.

 

( Bastian gets up and dusts himself off)

 

( He walks awhile and ends up infront of a silver market)

 

Bastian:

Fantasia sure has changed.

 

( Suddenly aryuen appears around is neck)

 

( Man comes up to Bastian)

 

Man:

Boy... Would you like some grapes. They're juicy and fresh

 

Bastian:

No Thanks

 

Man:

Are you sure?

 

Bastian:

Yes!

 

( An old man comes up behind Bastian)

 

( He taps Bastian on the shoulder)

 

Bastian:

I said I don't want any...

 

Old Man:

The darkness knows your here my boy. Go! Get as far away from here as you can.

( Bastian turns around)

 

Bastian:

What?

 

( Man disappears)

 

Bastian:

Where did he go?

 

 

( Bastian walks all the way into the center of the square)

 

Bastian:

Man I totally need a compass and a map.

 

( He hears hoof prints and looks to his left)

 

( There on a white horse, a girl with long black hair, dressed up in a brown leather Indian dress yells out)

 

Kiaru:

So you're the hero the The Child-Like-Empress called upon.

 

Bastian:

What do you mean? Who are you?

 

( Girl gets off of horse and walks up to Bastian)

 

Kiaru:

My names Kiaru.

 

Scene 6:

 

( They walk through the market)

 

Kiaru:

I have heard many versons of your great heroic adventures.

 

Bastian:

What heroic adventures? From who?

 

Kiaru:

Atreyu! He's told me all about how you've saved Fantasia from the Nothingness, the Emptyness and the Nasties. Your a legend!

 

( Bastian & Kiaru exit the market and enter the woods)

 

Bastian:

So... What do you mean by the empress called upon me?

 

Kiaru:

When you opened the book you heard a voice right?

 

Bastian:

Yeah, but what does that have to do with the empress?

 

Kiaru:

She is locked in her castle by a force unknown in our world. That message was the last thing said by the empress.

 

Bastian:

But why did it sound like she only wanted me to VISIT?

 

Kiaru:

The empress isn't dumb. She knew that if she said that we were in danger, you wouldn't come back.

 

Bastian:

So...Where are we headed

 

Kiaru:

To the Hidden Valley.

 

Scene 7:

 

( Kiaru and Bastian walk through a big bush)

 

Kiaru:

Here we are.

 

Bastian:

WoW! This place is amazing.

 

Kiaru:

Thanks! I know.

 

(Kiaru giggles)

(Kiaru whistles for Artex)

(Artex runs in through the woods)

 

Kiaru:

Good boy. We'll stay here for awhile.

 

Bastian:

Ok.

(Kiaru and Bastian are sleeping by the fire)

(Kiaru hears the fire go out and a twig snap, she wakes up)

 

Kiaru:

Bastian wake up. We must leave now.

 

(Kiaru unties Artex and hits him on the butt)

(Artex canters into the woods)

 

Kiaru:

Come. They've found us.

 

(Kiaru and Bastian run into the woods)

(After awhile of running they reach a big tree)

(Kiaru knocks on the wood three times)

(A secret door opens)

(Kiaru pulls Bastian in and closes the door)

(Bastian and Kiaru duck down and listen as footsteps trample by)

(Kiaru and Bastian slowly stand up)

 

Scene 8:

Background Voice:

As Bastian slowly gets up, he walks around looking at the mysterious potions and instruments in the hideout.

 

Kiaru:

DON'T TOUCH THAT!

(Bastian drops the dart on the ground, Kiaru picks it up)

 

Kiaru:

Enuck et Talc, poisonous weed dart. One prick can make you paralized and deadlike for a day... or more.

 

(Kiaru puts down the dart)

 

Bastian:

One thing... what was that, it, them?

 

Kiaru:

They are the creatures that plague our world. Bastian there is something I haven't told you.

 

Bastian:

What?

 

Kiaru:

It may be a little hard finding the Ivory tower.

 

Bastian:

What? How long will it take?

 

Kiaru:

Since those creatures are loose on Fantasia. They have already started the destruction of our world.

 

Bastian:

What do you mean?

 

Kiaru:

The Ivory tower is already consomed in...

 

Bastian:

...Darkness

Scene 9:

 

(Meanwhile in a dark castle)

Meisel:

Sir I think the boy is suspecting something

 

Sir Gray:

I know, but as soon as we get him. Fantasia will be ours!

 

(Kiaru calls for Artex)

(Kiaru hops on Atrex and pulls Bastian on behind her)

 

Kiaru:

We must hurry before those creatures come back.

 

Bastian:

Lets Ride!

 

(Kiaru and Bastian canter through the woods)

Kiaru:

Lets stop here. Artex needs a break.

 

Bastian:

Isn't this were...

 

Junior:

Bastian!!

 

Bastian:

Junior!!

 

Kiaru:

'Ello Junior how are you.

 

Junior:

Fine

 

Kiaru:

Any change?

 

Junior:

No

 

(Bastian walks over to the fire)

 

Bastian:

Is that the Ivory tower?

 

Kiaru:

Yes

 

Bastian:

Its so dark

 

Kiaru:

No sunshine can shine in.

 

(Kiaru grabs a jewel out of her pocket)

(She hands it to Bastian)

 

Kiaru:

Take this Bastian. I’m going to go ahead.

 

Bastian:

Why?

 

Kiaru:

There are a few things I want to do. Meet me at the Open Valley, if I’m not there, I want you to continue going to the tower. I'll meet you there.

 

Bastian:

You can't leave me. How am I supposed to get to the Ivery Tower without you and Artex

 

Kiaru:

I've contacted an old friend.

 

Falkore:

Am I late?

 

Kiaru:

Your just in time.

 

Bastian:

Falkore its great to see you again.

 

Falkore:

You too. But you think you could get this itch behind my ear?

 

(Bastian scratches Falkore's ear)

(Kiaru jumps onto Artex's back)

Kiaru:

I'll try and find you. Continue heading to the tower.

 

Falkore:

That girl is crazy if she thinks shes going to survive the darkness without help.

 

Bastian:

You mean we're crazy.

 

Scene 10:

(Meanwhile of in a dark region)

(Sir. Gray and Meisel are searching for any signs of Bastian)

 

Sir. Gray

Anything yet Meisel

 

Meisel:

Not Yet Sir.

 

Sir. Gray:

Keep looking! I want that boy and girl found as soon as possible.

 

Meisel:

Yes Sir.

 

(Meisel leaves the room)

Sir. Gray:

That boy knows more than he should and I dont want him ruining my plans.

 

(Meanwhile Bastian is paseing around the camp ground thinking)

 

Falkore:

Bastian are you ok?

 

Bastian:

I'm thinking

 

Falkore:

Thinking about what?

 

Bastian:

I can't do it. I can't go on. I don't know what to do.

 

Falkore:

Well... Bastian you have to for the sake of Fantasia and stories.

 

Bastian:

I know I know.

 

Falkore:

Well we better get going to meet Kiaru.

 

Bastian:

Ok. I'll go put the fire out.

 

(Bastian puts the fire out and hops on Falkores back)

 

Bastian:

Lets go

 

(just then 5 seconds after Bastian has left, a twig snaps and the bush moves)

(meanwhile back in the dark castle)

 

Meisel:

Sir, I've got some bad news.

 

Sir. Gray:

What is it now?

 

Miesel:

Well the boy & his friend have... disappeared again.

 

Sir. Gray:

WHAT!

 

Meisel:

We have the demons on the search right now

 

Sir. Gray:

Don't worry, with Jackles new invention we'll find that boy and his little helper.

 

Meisel:

Yes ,yes then we... I mean you will turn the princess to the dark side & Fantasia known for its color & light will be darker then midnight.

 

Sir. Gray:

Exactly! Jackle!

 

Jackle:

Yes Sir

(Jackle floats in arms across his chest)

 

Sir. Gray:

Show Meisel your new invention

 

Jackle: Yes

 

(the invention is pushed in by a demon)

 

Sir. Gray:

Well...

 

Jackle:

oh... I call it the " Mind Snatcher." It shutsdown the subjects mind which puts them into a deep dark sleep.

 

Sir. Gray:

Excellent, I want the boys adventurous friend found and brought back. Use this if she puts up a fight.

(Sir. Gray hands a demon a Enuck et Talc)

 

Sir. Gray:

This dart will help you very well.

 

Jackle:

Not yet sir.

 

(Sir. Gray walks up to Jackle and grabs him by the neck)

 

Sir. Gray:

I WANT THOSE KIDS FOUND WITHIN THE NEXT TWO DAYS. IF THEY ARE NOT FOUND BY SUNDOWN THE DAY AFTER I WILL HAVE THOSE DEMON RIP YOU TO SHREADS!

 

(Jackle looks at the demons and then looks back at Gray)

 

Jackle:

Yes sir right away sir.

 

( Jackle starts walkin out of the room)

 

Jackle:

What are you looking at. Get back to work you bloody animal.

 

Demon:

"Snarles"

(Jackle quickly floats out, with demons following him)

 

Sir. Gray:

God that man is less of an idiot than you.

 

Meisel:

What do you mean?

 

(Meisel is picking his nose)

Sir. Gray

Never mind

 

 

Scene 11:

 

( Meanwhile Bastian and Falkore land down)

 

Falkore:

 

Oh! I’m tired. I need a rest

 

Bastian:

Ok

 

(Bastian and Falkore land)

(Falkore takes a drink from a near by stream)

(the ground starts to rumble)

(Bastian sees little pebbles shaking)

 

Falkore:

Bastian we should go. NOW!

 

Bastian:

Ok

 

(Bastian jumps onto Falkore as soon as he lifts off)

(Bastian couldn’t get a grip so he fell off)

(Falkore didn’t notice)

(Bastian is hanging off a cliff by a root)

 

Bastian:

Help! Help Me! Anyone! Falkore Help! HELP!

 

Atreyu:

Alright, alright your gonna wake up the entire forest with your screeching

 

Bastian:

Kiaru

 

Atreyu:

Try Again Bux

 

(Bastian is pulled up)

Bastian:

Atreyu

 

(Bastian hugs Atreyu)

 

Atreyu:

It’s been so long

 

Bastian:

So true

 

Atreyu:

What has been going on? Why are you back in Fantasia?

 

Bastian:

The Child Like Empress called for me. I have to hurry to the Open Valley

 

Atreyu:

Well let’s get going

 

Bastian:

But how are we going to get there. Didn’t you give Kiaru Artex.

 

Atreyu:

No. That’s Artex Junior

 

Bastian:

Oh

 

Atreyu:

Come here boy!

 

(Artex comes to Atreyu)

(Bastian and Atreyu hop on and canter away)

(Bastian and Atreyu arrive at the Open Valley and find Kiaru dancing around a fire singing)

(They sit and observe her)

(Bastian steps on a twig)

 

“SNAP”

Kiaru:

Who’s there?

 

Atreyu:

It’s me and Bastian

 

Kiaru:

Atreyu, Bastian

 

(Kiaru runs and gives Atreyu a hug)

(She runs to give Bastian a hug and stops)

(Bastian hesitates too)

 

Kiaru:

Bastian, what happened?

 

(Kiaru looks at Bastian’s cut arm)

 

Kiaru:

Come, let’s get that fixed up

 

(Later on Kiaru and Bastian are sitting by the fire, while Atreyu goes and gets fire wood)

 

Atreyu:

Don’t move guys, I’ll be back in awhile

 

Kiaru:

So, bet your glad Atreyu is back.

 

Bastian:

Yeah

 

Kiaru:

What happened to you? Where’s Falkore?

 

Bastian:

I don’t know. I don’t think he noticed me fall off.

 

(There is an awkward pause of scilence)

 

Kiaru:

Well, it’s great to have you back

 

Bastian:

Great to be back

 

Scene 12

 

Atreyu:

Am I interrupting something?

 

Kiaru & Bastian:

No

 

Atreyu:

Well I got enough fire wood for the upcoming night.

 

Kiaru:

Look at the sun; I can’t believe it’s going to be gone

 

Bastian:

I won’t let it. Oh. You gave me this.

 

(Bastian gives Kiaru the necklace)

(Kiaru takes it and looks into the distance)

 

Kiaru:

As darkness falls and you see no life, the tears of imagination and love one cries is the light. My grandma said this when it was given to me as a little girl.

 

Bastian:

What does it mean?

 

Kiaru:

I don’t know, but I want you to take it. Might bring you luck. I’m going to bed. Night

 

Bastian:

Night

 

Atreyu:

You should get some rest. I’ll watch the fire.

 

(Later that night, the fire goes out, and 3 demons grab Kiaru. They give her the dart shot. She stops struggling)

 

Atreyu:

Bastian, is that you?

 

(one of the demons hit Atreyu on the head)

 

(Bastian and Atreyu slowly awake)

 

Bastian: Where’s Kiaru?

 

(Atreyu stands up slowly looking at the demon foot print)

 

Atreyu: They’ve got her.

 

(Back at the dark castle)

Meisel:

Master we’ve got her

 

Sir Gray:

Excellent! Show her to me

 

(A wall turns and Kiaru is chained like a star to it. She slowly wakes up)

 

Sir Gray:

Ah! Our little adventurer has awakened.

 

Kiaru:

What’s going on? Why cant I move?

 

Sir Gray:

Poisonous weed dart I’m sorry we had to use it on you, but you kept on struggling.

 

Kiaru:

Why am I here?

 

Sir Gray:

You see I have a plan, I plan to consume Fantasia in darkness. Once this is done I shall steal the empresses thrown, and control Fantasia. All the creatures and people shall be under my spell.

 

Kiaru:

You’ll never get away with this

 

Sir Gray:

Yes but that’s where you come in. You see your friend of you, Bastian, well he can’t get anywhere without you. You’re the key to this whole story.

 

Kiaru:

What?

 

Sir Gray:

Oh don’t worry hun. You’ll figure it out soon enough, or maybe you won’t. Jackle, please show our young guest your little toy. Worry not my friend. You’ll see me again… in your dreams.

 

Jackle:

Get ready!

 

(Through the door all you see is a flash of blue light)

(Meanwhile back at the campsite Bastian is waiting for Atreyu)

 

Atreyu:

I’m back. And I brought a friend.

 

Bastian:

Who?

 

Atreyu:

This is Teck.

 

Teck:

I brought these. Now I can’t come with you guys on the mission but I’m gonna tell you what each thing does.

 

(Atreyu picks up a bow and arrow with strange markings)

 

Teck:

Atreyu, what you’re holding is the Onomega. It’s like an ordinary bow and arrow except the arrow is filled with a certain substance, which makes its launch super fast. Atreyu this will be yours. Bastian, see that dagger on your left. That’s a special dagger. It’s been handed down from the sun god to everyone who believes in the light. This won’t help you defeat the darkness but it will help you slow it down. Well I have to go. It’s my turn to cook dinner. Good luck though.

 

 

 

(Teck hops on his *giant eagle*)

 

Atreyu:

Let’s get going.

 

(Bastian and Atreyu hop on Artex and canter off towards the dark castle)

 

 

Scene 13

 

(They arrive at the front gate of a tall slender black castle. The ground is completely dead and the only thing growing are dead burnt trees.)

 

Bastian:

It smells

 

Atreyu:

Sorry

 

Atreyu & Bastian:

(laugh)

 

Atreyu:

Ok funny time is over. Let’s get serious. Do you remember the plan?

 

Bastian:

Yah! Good Luck!

 

Atreyu:

You too!

 

(As the gates begin to close Atreyu sneaks in. He continues walking in while bumping into the walls. He accidentally bumps into a switch which opens a door. There he finds Kiaru. He unties her from the big wheel, and carries her to a near by cart. He sticks her in the cart and starts to run off with it. Meanwhile Bastian is sneaking among the rocks when he hears demons clanking iron together. He sees a black box sitting on a cart. Suddenly a demon throws a piece of rock at the box which makes it disappear. Bastian runs to the gate and checks for signs of Atreyu. Meanwhile Atreyu turns the corner looking in back of him and he bumps into 3 demons. )

 

Atreyu:

Your no gonna let me off with a warning right?

 

(Atreyu runs through the halls while being chased by the demons. He reaches the hall with the doorway at the end.)

 

Bastian:

Run Atreyu Run

 

Atreyu:

Bastian, get the trap ready.

 

(Bastian runs towards two ropes. By accident he pulls the wrong rope which starts lowering the gate.)

 

Atreyu:

Bastian Catch!

 

(Atreyu pushes the cart towards Bastian. Just as the gate closes Atreyu slides underneath. The demons are at the gate trying to get it open. Bastian then pulls the right rope which switches on a light. The demons then start to melt.)

 

Atreyu:

Next time you’re doing the rescue.

 

Bastian:

Atreyu I overheard that there going to use the machine on everyone in Fantasia.

 

Atreyu:

Bastian continue heading to the Ivory tower. I’m going to take Kiaru to someone.

 

Bastian:

How do I get there?

 

Atreyu:

Try and find Falkore!

 

Narrator:

Bastian, weak and hungry continuously walked through the green forest. His arms bruised and cut from the vines and thorns his clothes were partially torn on the left side. He then collapsed with his last ounce of breath. His necklace broke and fell off his neck. At the dark castle Gray and Meisel hop into the black box, knowing that the black box would transfer them to the Ivory tower. With the power of darkness moving them thorough time and space, they would be at the tower in less than 1 hour. Meanwhile Bastian awoke to find, himself, lying in a pile of feathers. Slowly he began to rise.

 

Falkore:

It’s about time. I thought you were giving up on us.

 

Bastian:

Where am I?

 

Falkore:

You’re at the Fairy Village in the clouds.

 

(Bastian flips out and almost rolls off)

 

 

Falkore:

Careful! It’s really high.

 

Bastian:

Yeah really high! So fairies are real?

 

(Just then 8 fairies came out from behind a cloud in a group)

 

Coral:

Yes! We are Bastian. I’m princess Coral. My sisters and I found you.

 

(Bastian feels his neck)

 

Bastian:

Where’s my necklace? Where’d it go? I can’t find it. Falkore!

 

Fairy 3:

Look Out!

 

(The fairies manage to dodge Bastian’s arm)

 

Fairy 7:

Calm down!

 

Fairy 5:

I have rescued your charm.

 

(Two fairies flew to Bastian carrying his necklace)

 

Fairy 2+4:

We tried and fixed it as well as we could

 

Fairy 6:

You must hurry to the Ivory tower.

 

Coral:

Even as we speak Fantasia is being consumed by the darkness.

 

(Bastian hops on Falkore and begins to take off)

 

Coral:

Hurry Bastian!

 

Fairy 3+7:

What a man!

 

Coral:

Girls!

 

Scene 14

 

(Bastian and Falkore are flying through the air, when Bastian spots the tower)

 

Bastian:

There I see it. The sky around it is dark and the castle’s light as well, is fading.

 

Falkore:

Here we are.

 

(When Bastian landed, there he saw Atreyu wrapped up in dark green vines. The vines seemed to have a mind of there own.)

 

 

Bastian:

Atreyu! Hold on I’ll get you out.

 

Atreyu:

No don’t get Kiaru!

 

(Atreyu points to the inside of the castle. Just then a vine tried to grab Bastian but he dodged it)

 

Narrator:

Bastian knew that if he didn’t try and find a way to save Fantasia. Soon all of the stories and fairytales would disappear.

 

(Bastian slowly walks up the stairs and into the castle.)

 

Scene 15

 

(He turns a corner and sees Kiaru lying on a white bed in a white gown, completely still.)

 

Bastian:

Kiaru, Kiaru wake up.

 

(Bastian tries to find a pulse with no luck)

 

Bastian:

Kiaru this isn’t funny. You’re so cold. Please wake up. I don’t want you to leave. Fantasia needs you. I need you.

 

(Bastian was holding Kiaru, when a tear fell down his face, which fell onto the necklace. He then laid her down and kissed her on the lips. The necklace suddenly lit with great force)

 

Kiaru:

*moan*

 

Bastian:

You’re alive! You’re alive!

 

Kiaru:

Um Bastian, I can’t breathe.

 

Bastian:

Sorry

 

Kiaru:

The necklace it’s glowing. “The tears of, imagination and love one cry’s will release the light.” Bastian you figured how to defeat the darkness.

 

Sir. Gray:

 

*ha* But it’s too late.

 

Kiaru:

Who are you?

 

(A puff of black smoke appears and a dark tall man appears.)

 

Kiaru:

Why am I dressed like this?

 

Sir. Gray:

 

Oh! Don’t you remember Kiaru? Or should I call you “Child like Empress.”

 

Kiaru:

If I was I would remember.

 

Bastian:

No. you wouldn’t.

 

Kiaru:

What do you mean?

 

Bastian:

When I came to Fantasia you told me that Atreyu told you stories about me.

 

Kiaru:

Yeah!

 

Bastian:

But when I was back at home, I started reading the Neverending Story and it said “While Bastian stay in his world going to school, his old pal Atreyu was hunting buffalo’s with his brother. So it couldn’t have been the actual Atreyu who told you about me. It would have had to been him.

 

Kiaru:

How

 

Sir. Gray:

 

The machine! The lovely machine! Before our friend had come I had found you. I had disguised myself as Atreyu. I then led you to the machine and with that we ended up here.

 

Bastian:

But why did u tell her about me.

 

Sir. Gray:

Well I need you. I need you to get that jewel from her. I knew that if she trusted you, she would hand the necklace over without question. Now give it to me!

 

Bastian:

No! I won’t let you destroy Fantasia!

 

(Kiaru got up and began to walk towards Sir. Gray. He released a dark spell which repelled her to the crash against the floor and the wall. Bastian ran towards her.)

 

Bastian:

Are you ok?

 

Kiaru:

Yeah, but you need to destroy him.

 

Bastian:

How?

 

Kiaru:

The… necklace… if all else fails… use… aryuen.

 

(Kiaru sits in the corner trying to get her strength back. Bastian runs towards Sir. Gray, but Gray picks him up and throws him to the ground.)

 

Sir. Gray:

You’ve have caused a lot of problems. It’s time to get rid of your little fairy tale.

 

(Bastian’s dagger falls close to Kiaru and the necklace lands right in front of Sir. Gray)

 

Sir. Gray:

It’s now mine!

 

(Kiaru then grabs the dagger and with Sir. Grays back turned to her, she puts the dagger through his robe.)

 

Sir. Gray:

What is this? I can’t move!

 

Kiaru:

Bastian! Use Aryuen!

 

Bastian:

You know Gray, even though you have the necklace you still don’t have the energy to finish your plan. You know what I wish. I wish for you to see the good and light.

 

(At that moment the necklace lit up and filled Fantasia with a bright lite. With his last ounce of breath Sir. Gray yelled out)

 

Sir. Gray:

My plan will be fulfilled.

 

(Bastian ran to Kiaru and helped her up. They bothed walked outside and saw Falkore, Atreyu and all of Fantasia cheering. Kiaru turned to Bastian and said.)

 

Kiaru:

Thank you so much! For everything that you’ve done. You know your always welcome back for a visit.

 

Bastian:

Thanks!

 

(And with that they kissed on the steps)

 

Bastian:

Question! How do I get back home?

 

Kiaru:

Easy you have to face your fear.

 

(Bastian was transported into a dull room. I only contained a desk and pencil and a piece of paper.)

 

 

Narrator:

As Bastian began to write, thousands of Ideas popped into his head. He then finished the test and with a flash of light he found himself lying in his bed. He then found his English text book on his night table. As he opened it his father walked into his room.

 

Barney:

Thank you!

 

(Bastian smiles)

 

(Camera zooms into the Neverending Story book and as Aryuen glows, the audience hears a empress’s laughter)
