Who is normal?

Ok so recently I had an argument/heated debate with someone that I work with in which he said that I'm not normal because I would rather stay in bettering myself physically and mentally instead of conforming to the sheep mentality of my age group and go out getting drunk, having sex with meaningless girls who may or may not have diseases, and then fighting at the end of the night like everybody else my age.

So I ask you the following questions for you to debate the answers.

1)Because someone thinks that it's normal for them to follow the same routine as their friends ie: going out drinking does that make them normal?

2) In your eyes what do you see has normal?

3) Is it normal to follow the masses and get drunk or to follow your own path in life?

4) Who says what is actually normal?

No one is normal; everyone is crazy in their own way.

If people are asking you to go hang out with them while at a pub/bar or some other crap like that, you can still go and be social and whatnot, but just don't drink. Trust me, you're not really missing out on anything if you decide to get wasted. In fact, most of the time, you'll regret drinking the night before because of that bloody god-awful hangover (I've had it happen to me once). And if they're like "come on, just one drink won't kill you/why are you being such a pussy, man?", then just be like "well, someone has to drive tonight".

That's basically everything but #3 answered, and to that I say: no one is allowed to choose what choices you make. Take the road less travelled. And this doesn't have to be necessarily about getting drunk or smoking pot or whatever the case may be.

1) No it makes them part of a majority. The majority is what is defined as normal but in fact it is merely an identification for fools to go against what is not a part of the majority, because they are afraid of change or a break from tradition and strive to fight it.
2) Nothing is normal. Everything is something and it is either a majority or it is not.
3)I have stated my opinion above.
4)People who run the majority.

There is no 'normal', especially among Sentient beings such as humans. There is no human exactly the same as another, and there is no animal exactly the same as another; even clones are not Identical mentally, for they experience different things at differing points of time.
There is no Atom/Molecule that goes through the exact same processes in the exact same place at the exact same point in time.

There are similarities and common things, but Normal is a word which I dont tend to use, for it just seems out of place in a universe as varied as our own.

Normal, is what I would refer to, "being compatible with the majority". This of course, is my definition and anyone is welcome to disagree and counter-propose his own definition of normal.

But at any rate, it is your life. It is precious. If you simply do what the majority does, chances are that you will end unsatisfied and regret it. However, you should try some of these, and who knows. You might like one or two.

I have also gotten drunk a few times, just not to the point of waking up with a hangover, and admittedly I had my fun. I just happen to occasionally enjoy it.

Anyway, the word normal can be defined many different ways. Like how in Vietnam, we think that eating avocado sweet is normal. Where as in Mexico people think that eating avocado salty is normal. (this is an example, i'm not saying it's true for everyone) I have my own definition of normal, but i will not post it as i know that some body will argue without any reason. I am young so i can't say much to this topic, but i do enjoy to partake in intellectual conversation like this. So yeah, in summary, the word 'normal' is different for everyone and is undefinable.

This came about because I see the world around me in a way my work colleague does, and because I don't drink (although I do socialise with people who share my interests) he says I'm not normal.

To this and all of you if that makes me not your idea of normal you're welcome to sit and swivel, I an SMX, I am me not you or anyone else, don't like it then don't deal with me.
