Agro
Book is a card we see moved around a lot on the list, but I want to pose the question to you: Is it broken? Is the ability to turn a monster into face-down defense position at will a broken concept? Or is it just very versatile? I believe it's the latter, which is also my argument for why it should be put @2 on the next list. Discuss Book of Moon.
CommanderVolt
I believe some like to refer to this as the (one of) best -1 in the game. It goes so far such a simple effect. I've had many plays, including come-back plays shut-down because of this lonecard. And in rebuttle, i've done the same to other players. Flipping down tuners to deny a Synchro, or limiting their option to Xyz or simply using Book to survive another turn. Card is great, and whilst i don't know how everyone else feels, i generally always try to run this card. Don't forget, people like to run Night Assailant now. It's always nice to turn Book of moon into a "Destroy 1 monster your opponent controls."
Lonk
It's versatality makes it the reason that it cannot move any higher.
mido9
I sorta wouldnt say it's bad for game by being versatile, since it slows down the whole format and makes power plays and strong bosses harder to play.

All what it is, is that it is just too useful to not be on higher positions.
I think it's just fine @2. Plus, while people may argue that a slower format is worse, if this slows down the format, we could probably have legitimate reasons to get rid of cards that slow down the game, but for the wrong reasons (i.e. stall)
Canadian
Feels really subpar imo. Idk, I'd rather just play compulse over it.

newhat
Using it is a natural -1. But here is a brief redundant list of uses. > Stop opposing attacks > Change opposing monsters to more vulnerable DEF > Prevent your attacking monsters from being destroyed by battle (for Glads, for instance) > Disrupt opposing Synchros > Disrupt opposing Xyzes > Prevent effects like Grandmaster of the Six Samurai > Cut off opposing Equip-like cards > Eliminate Continuous effects like Zenmaines > Re-use your Flip and on-Summon effects > Change your monsters to higher DEF > Prevent Battle Damage on a face-up monster you want destroyed by battle > Block opposing effects on your monsters that require them to be face-up (Veiler, Mirror Force) > Reset "once per turn" effects
Expelsword
Stop using -1 to describe a card as if it's a negative attribute. Generally, in order to play a card, you have to play the card from your hand. The important part is not what the card costs you, but what it does. Synchro Monsters are usually -1s, so if you want to summon Quasar... -1 once, -1 again, 0 for Formula, then -2 to summon Quasar. Quasar is -4 if you look at it that way, but how often has that -4 cost you the game? More likely it wins it. Even Synchro Monsters in general can make up for their "cost" with ATK alone. -1 is barely indicative of anything in this context. -1 makes much more sense in cases like Lightning Vortex, where it actually costs you an additional card to play. ihop
Foolish Burial is a -1 but people want to play that. In the case of Book you then get advantage later in the game that pays it off.
Strider Tigerwolf
Card "should" be at 2 due to the way it makes the format shift slower, more flexible and to some extent a little more skillful. The only thing is that several cards heavily abuse this very simple effect...
I agree with this completely, most the times it ends of in my side deck because of this. Book of moon I really see as a staple for stall, sider for most others.
