I don't like the idea of saying a card can't be used in the second round.

It means that the player will most likely be playing with an illegal Deck.

I would be okay with it if it was merely an extra banished zone that acts more like the banished zone used to.

Seems a very strange place to put a brand new concept by just throwing it in as an addon to a card that already does a lot of things.

That's without mentioning how much I don't like the idea of this Exiling. At all. Seems unfair and especially given how easily searchable field spells are, you're crippling the opponent for just playing the gamr more than is called for.

Well, changing Exile to only affect like until the end of the current round is okay, then?

Or you could make it Banish Face-down.
Unless There's something that does something with bansihed [i]cards[/i] (Not Specific at all) it's the same thing.
