Why aren't my topics getting comments?

Stan Alda

Question

This has been going on for a while, but I've only decided to speak up now. For some reason, my threads have gotten very few comments or reviews. Take, for example, "Nanoswarm Revolution": http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/290013-nanoswarm-revolution/

Thus far, I have gotten 228 views on that thread. How many reviews have I gotten? 5. How many individual people have commented? 2. That's only my most recent and comparatively popular thread. Even the posts I make in TCG sometimes kill the discussion. Why?

Because your cards suck.

I'm actually just yankin' your chain. I haven't seen your cards, and I very likely never will.

But this topic seems pretty unneeded. I mean, you might get a few more eyes on your cards out of this but... if we started allowing the Questions and Help section to be used as advertising, that'd just be no good. I mean, I wouldn't want a bunch of fanfic writers going "why aren't my fics getting more reviews?", have TCG-ers say "why aren't my tournaments getting more players", have RP-ers saying "why aren't my RPs getting more active?"

tl;dr - Locked. Questions isn't for advertising stuff. Use status for that, I guess. =\

I made cards in AOC and got virtually nothing. Granted, it is AOC and not many people comment in those sections but I made a 40 card deck and told people to only comment on one and not a damn was given.

It is a fact of YCM life.

Bad Luck Stan Alda *shot*

Although to be fair, basically all of us cardmakers are getting little to no replies when we post cards in RC/WC. It's no big deal though, you're probably just very unlucky or people hate your guts.

I think us RC/WC makers need to get on some sort of an "I scratch your back, you scratch mine" system so we can atleast get opinions on our stuff. I will gladly give criticism on other people's stuff if I get some on mine as well. Hell, even if you don't comment on mine, I always like giving opinions whenever I can.

Why don't you tell me that in the threads themselves?

If she just flat out said in the threads that your cards sucked, she'd be breaking the rules of the Advanced Clause.

It's not like many posters in that section post informed, quality critiques. I'd rather get no comments than a comment from someone who thinks a Level 1-4, 2000 ATKer that's not a vanilla and has no drawback is an OTK, and either doesn't explain the OTK, or explains that "you can get 3 on the field."

Funny. I'd say it's probably the complete opposite and that is because there's nothing to critise/flame/abuse/etc.

(Will point out now that I don't go in RC anymore and have no idea what Stan's cardmaking ability is like).

Some people only seem to want to say "ahaha your card sux you're an idiot who can't... ra ra ra" but are very quiet if there's nothing to complain about. Happens everywhere on the Internet and elsewhere.
