Discuss the card that makes Prophecy good.

This card makes it so you don't need to run more than 1 Leadership, 2 Life, etc. But people will be people.

This is a prime reason to Normal Summon Batel in the opening.

Leadership isn't that great, actually. And I'd still keep the ambiguity by setting Batel instead.

Batel + Grim (or Grim + Batel) + this is the standard opening play in my Prophecies. I don't think I'm doing it wrong.
No, that is a standard opening play. But if you don't want your opponent knowing what you're playing, then you just set the Batel.

Yeah batel can be a funny surprise or be basically card car and you just open with it. Then again having Wonder Wand makes everything so much better. As for the card itself seeing that it's draw effect goes against its destruction effect its really hard to argue how broken it is to me. The card is beautiful as in it doesn't cripple your opponent without doing anything (Valley) and it doesn't reward you for herp derp and reading a card (gates) it just generates hand advantage.

Btw Junon made Prophecy good...this and chateau just proved that field spells are trying to be useful again.

The first turn it's out is just a +0
Anything after that starts the pluses. Although chaining MST to the Standby effect makes it good for only a Spellbook recycle.

Funny. On Dueling Network returning the Spellbook is an effect, not a cost, so chaining MST to the Standby effect stops the whole card.

Too bad this card doesn't Summon anything if the opponent activates a new Field Spell.

It's still fairly bad design, in that it solves both problems that the archetype has without it; That is, it recycles every Spellbook while giving additional hand advantage. Before this was released, Prophecies couldn't function too well because they were both limited in how much they could do (Lack of good recycling method) and they didn't have a way of replenishing their hand, which would constantly empty (Draw power or +1 searchers).

Actually, that's my bad. I've been misreading the card, thinking there was a cost when there isn't.

On the Wikia it's listed as a Cost. On DN it's listed as an effect.

I'm not gonna try to guess which one's right, but it makes a huge difference.
