Grandsoil, the Elemental Lord

Recommended Posts

Eh, combo looks too risky to pay dividends. The rule of thumb about FTKs is that if they work less than 50+% of the time, they aren't worth playing competitively (even 50% is big push for me). That doesn't change the satisfaction quotient derived from pulling one off, granted, but looking at something like this, it doesn't leave me fearful. I'd be a damn sight more scared of pure Wind-Ups.

EDIT: It is a three card FTK as Wind-Ups will already be running Shark and Magician at 3.

are you kidding? everyone runs magician at the very least and good wind up players run shark because it can be used for all of their xyz monsters

This feels like a Captain Obvious statement. But I'm not sure...it's 7 in the morning over here.

I mean drawing Magician + Shark isn't common.

Even if you don't get them, at nearly any point if you have Grand, Shark, and Magician in hand = OTK. If you open them up first turn or use cards to draw them during your first turn without so much as using cards like Pot of Duality, One Day Peace, and Cardcar D, you'll be fine. You could still run these said cards for stall though.

These Elemental Lords seem really situational.
What are the odds of getting one out?
Very. Very. High.

Moulinglacia -> Mermails/Atlanteans
Pyrorex -> Molten Conduction gets it setup in 1 card
Grandsoil -> Takes a little bit of work, but banipsychics get it pretty damn fast.

They're as situational as Dark Armed Dragon was when it was at 3.

sending monsters to the grave is always pretty easy. this card isnt hard to get out by any means.
Why are you quoting me? I was the one explaining how easy it is to get them out.

Then the Wind-Up players you see suck at stacking.

grandsoil isnt bad by any means??????? none of the cards used are really incredibly bad on their own and together can be much more powerful than just shark+magician on their own. like what the hellck (hell+heck) dude?
Grandsoil might not be bad but he is completely overrated.
