darkus16
Hey there! So, since it is my first Archetype, I'd like to have your opinion about it! So first, here is the whole concept of the Circus Freaks: They are mostly DARK-Attribute monsters, but each with a different Type. They are created to be useful on their own, each having their unique effects. However, if they are sent to the Graveyard by battle, you can search for their more powerful former self, which have a more powerful version of their previous effect. So, enjoy! PS: I'll keep updating the cards, and your comments will help me a lot to do so! So thanks in advance!
Lore: When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: you can Special Summon "Eldini the Mesmerizer" from your Deck. once per turn: you can look at the top card of your opponent's Deck. If you do, you can send this card to the Graveyard or keep it on top of the opponent's Deck. Your opponent adds the other card to his hand.
newhat
CF Eldini is worded oddly. Did you mean to give a choice between milling the revealed card and leaving it there? If so it's an effective card. 1900 and it gives a 2300 attacker when it dies. Mesmerizer is unrewarding. You give your opponent a free card. So what if it wasn't quite as good as the other one? It was free! Well, not free, ya lost a CF Eldini to give it to them.
darkus16
What type of effect do you think will suit Mesmerizer better? And how can I rephrase Eldini's description so it actually makes more sense? If I'm asking these questions, it's actually to improve my overall concept. So, if you have any ideas, I'll be happy to take them
Aix
I generally make archetypes, so I will give my say on the archetype structure as a whole: I personally don't see how this can be part of an archetype. Sure, it's cool that when something is destroyed by battle, it Special Summons it's greater self, but other than that theme there is no synergy between the cards and I don't see how they can actually work together. If you look at existing archetypes, Lightsworns all work to put more Lightsworns into the Graveyard by milling your Deck so that you can Summon Judgment Dragon, their boss, Fire Kings (a very new and really powerful archetype) work to destroy each other to gain effects, to bring out their boss you have to destroy it, and Atlanteans send each other to the Graveyard to earn powerful destruction effects while Xyz Summoning to the max. I could give you plenty of other examples, but this is enough. An archetype needs a specific playstyle, not simply a theme? You cannot simply rely on your cards to be destroyed by battle, unless you made a way to force your opponent to attack and prevent destruction by card effects. Of course, I'm assuming things here, you've just started on your archetype, but keep that in mind while you make the rest of it. An upgrade system like the one you have (meaning upgrade to stronger card) is really hard to pull off because, very often, you will draw the upgraded version, which is useless cuz you can't summon it (Level 7 and up is generally for boss monsters nowadays and almost never do you Normal Summon a Level 7, the only exception would be in Frog Decks). I will give a suggestion to have something that shuffles an upgraded Circus Freak into your Deck for a powerful effect. The effects of the Circus Freaks you have here themselves seem useless. For Eldini, I would suggest a randomly selected card in your opponent's hand instead of the top card of their deck, because sending from Deck isn't very useful, well, it's unlikely to be useful. Mesmerizer I would suggest looking at 2 card in your opponent's hand and sending one to the Graveyard and returning the other. Give anyone who gives a good review/comment/suggestion a Rep (by pressing the up arrow at the side), I'm trying to encourage this to people so that more people will comment (and I want more Reps :3).
