It would work very well as an anti-meta due to the control aspect, I'd think, and most of the effects pertaining to that part are fairly balanced from what I can see. I also like the fact that it has a good deal of fairly balanced self-preservation and summoning effects. Puppet Hero is a pretty good Xyz monster beyond its set-appropriate effects. Also, seeing as this set is a branch of another set you seem to be working on or have finished, the field spell makes sense. For the things I'm kind of iffy on, the set seems to count on getting Flame Dance Puppet out on the field as soon as possible. The cards all seem fairly weak for level 4 and, barring the fact of Flame Dance Puppet's effects, would not last very long on their own. The set also seems to count on running Harp's Allure Puppet's effect as often as possible for the summon of most other monsters until you can get Puppet Hero. Puppet Mistress does seem to balance out that lack of summoning, however, so that might not be as bad as it seems. Puppet Mistress seems to have a redundancy in the effect text, though. "Once per turn, during your Main Phase" and "(You can only gain this effect once per turn.)" seem to conflict, but I'm unsure if the latter one has to do with her second effect. I can't really say how I might fix that. Overall, it's a fairly interesting set, it's balanced for the most part. I love the art and the concept. I'd give it an 9/10. Aix Posted December 7, 2012 Author Report Share Posted December 7, 2012 A Rep for you for a nice big review. Gimmick Puppets are a group of powerful Level 8 Xyz Monsters already released in the game. The point of Puppet Hero was that if it destroys a monster by battle, you can then Xyz Summon a Rank 8 afterwards. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
