One of the things that got me really excited was seeing Lindsey Stirling make top 10 since she is amazing. Anyway thoughts on the videos to come out of this year? Loads of youtube "celebrities" trying too hard to get in on the Gangnam Style fad and ultimately looking ridiculous. Also I hate the new youtube layout. How is it that Google can make a sound search engine, awesome web browser, but can't seem to perfect a video hosting site that they've been in power of for a while now? [/quote] Of course they look ridiculous. If they didn't, they wouldn't be famous on YouTube, to be frank. And really, if you want to blame anyone, blame YouTube. YouTube's just using the opportunity to gather as many famous YouTubers as they could to make a viral video. If they wanted to create mass hysteria, they've done it. And, I swear, I hear a new person complaining about the new YouTube layout every day without even explaining why :> From a design viewpoint, nearly everything is now cleaner. The colour scheme is horrible: everything is white which is harsh on the eye, no more mild grey. The player isn't designed with high resolution widescreen monitors in mind as there is a lot of wasted space. [/quote] They are noteworthy problems, but I do much prefer the new logo graphics of Upload, Subrscribe etc. Playlists are considerably much cleaner and the Guide function is really elegant. The new YouTube is good enough for me not to care about the problems. You can only hope that the problems that are there will be fixed. The new Youtube is fine, except that it no longer shows just related videos, but videos related to my overall interests, so I can't go on a VGM spree as easily. And Cracked is fantastic. Woah, I didn't even realize KassemG was in it until the credits, so then I had to watch it all over again to see him with Grace. I'm surprised Shane Dawson wasn't apart of it! But either way, that video really got me in a good mood. As ridiculous as it is, it's just youtubers being crazy. Why not enjoy the hysteria?
