Cute Rotten Yoshika Posted December 30, 2012 Report Share Posted December 30, 2012 thats not necessarily true. there have been matriarchal societies in the past and ones that made no distinction between boys and girls. there are even many societies with more than two genders. the history of western patriarchy is complex, being mostly from the roman empire (which is also biblical times, fyi) though its source isnt very important. what is important is destroying that imbalance. Raine Posted January 1, 2013 Report Share Posted January 1, 2013 With 1917 coming up, this is an important topi- waht, nevermind- The sad thing is in places where the status quo of gender division is practically built into the ladscape, I can't agree to force woman equality. The thing is I believe that gender equality is not an isolated ideal for a society but a hurdle that comes with an overall rationalization and modernization norms and standards... it's not a target, it just comes in the packaged deal.
