Tribe-Infecting Virus

Atlanteans are fairly obvious, since Tribe is a WATER that has a cost. But even if it was once per turn, it wouldn't be balanced. It's a 1600 body with Lightning Vortex, since most Decks run primarily one Type, and the ones that don't still Synchro or Xyz often enough where this is a +0 or better with very little setup, strategy, or a sincere cost.

I'm honestly fine with this staying banned, and I don't see why we'd ever want it back. We have mirror force and torrential both at 2 to control the power creep, and those stop more OTKS than enable them, whereas this is the polar opposite.

What part of the state of the current meta game makes you think Mirror Force and Torrential being at 2 is "controlling" anything?

Sorry if I confused you

Just because it was banned for years before Atlanteans were released doesn't mean it should have been. This card is just like Tsukuyomi, a relic of the past that should be at 3 now.

I would agree with you completely if Mermails and Atlanteans weren't a thing.  At this point, if it was at 3, it would make for absolutely crazy pluses that aren't good for the game at all.  It gives Mermails another outlet to spam the field and clear the opponent's field at the same time.

It's a debatable point, but I won't object to it being a potentially valid point. But yeah, perhaps now that Atlanteans and Mermails exist, the card has no hope of being unbanned. Tsukuyomi had potential for abuse, but clearly not enough because the game evolved to a point where it'd be too slow. It'd be like arguing that Breaker or Jinzo still deserves to be on the list.

I still feel that Tribe is too powerful, especially when the Synchro era wanted specific cards in the Graveyard.
