Synchronized
Following the highly-successful (at least in terms of production) 1st Series, Yu-Gi-Oh! D-Accel, a story that saw elements from the popular Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, while also straying in directions more towards Bleach/Soul Eater/Naruto, etc. just to name a few, in that it became much more complex than just an average story about dueling, with twists and turns to keep readers interested. With that story about to come to an end (with only five episodes remaining until the 75th and final episode), fellow writer and YCMember Umbra & I have decided to team up to launch a sequel series, D-Accel II (shortened to just Accel II). What's cool about this? Anyone looking to get into the story or something new to read with the void filled by Matt's YCM departure and the conclusion of Yu-Gi-Oh! 24 won't have to read the entire 1st Series (all 75 episodes) in order to be able to catch up. We'll have a special section of the thread when the series premieres with an interesting recap style of what the 1st series was all about. On top of that, there'll be some Character Bios and the like to introduce you to the characters that have already made their appearances! So what's the point of the thread? Well, since we plan to premiere the series in the last week of April, we're doing tons of planning. But we'd like to get some opinions from the members/readers, too, whether you've read the 1st Series or not, about what kind of things you'd like to see in the story taking into consideration the fact that our created universe allows almost anything (as long as it's realistic in the story's context). In addition, just a way to get the word out there and generate some ideas and character suggestions as well. So can we get a brief synopsis? Nothing's been finalized yet, meaning we haven't put pen to paper, but the basis is as follows: Approximately three months after the events of D-Accel, our two protagonists who remain are assigned a special task - to oversee an assembled task of rookies who will be trained to become masters of their craft. Already skilled duelists, these men and women must learn to work together to use their new-found powers to become stronger and improve their training. But as is the case, that's not as easy said as it is done. And while on the surface, it would appear that the intentions are good, perhaps there's more than meets the eye to the one behind this organization, and enemies from the past may want one last hurrah before all is said and done. This time, the power of Rakurai is not enough. Definitely would appreciate any and all ideas you guys have, from characters, to Decks you'd like to see used, and everything in between. And check back for story updates! 4.5.13 Character Bios - Installment I Alistair MaelstromAge: 17Bio: Growing up on the coastal Australian islands, Alistair’s always had an extreme passion for Duel Monsters. With his rock-star like personality, sort of living carefree and not wasting time on simple worries, his confidence carries over both in duels and on the battlefield. However, he’s brand new to the concept of fighting and has only just begun to discover his powers. While he’s made plenty of friends, he has a compassionate side for animals, and has spent many years of his life taking care of the various wild-life creatures on the islands, sharing a special connection with them. Despite accepting the recruiting request, he’s not particularly interested in fighting, but feels that at least getting some kind of a grasp on his abilities would be in his best interests. Skylar Age: 19Bio: Not much is known about him, other than that he was the first recruit, suggesting those who made the selections know more than the others. Skylar is a brilliant fighter who speaks very little, only when absolutely necessary. Not only is he not a people person, he’s actually blatantly rude to most of them and has no care one way or another for the well-being of his team-mates. The reasoning behind his accepting of the invitation is also unknown, but his fighting skills are superb. He seems to have a much stronger grasp on his abilities, and his weapon, a pair of nun-chucks that he can manipulate with Rakurai in various ways. Damien Tistro Age: 18 Bio: A level-headed, calm boy who is competent in both Duel Monsters and combat, Damien and his twin sister Andrea were selected as recruits due to their unique qualities. Despite being twins, they have very different personalities. While his sister is rash and quick to anger, Damien is very cautious not to over-react and has been considered a genius at times. His weapon, a bow and arrow that uses Rakurai instead of physical weapons, gives him significant fighting advantages when combined with his strengths. What he lacks in dueling, he makes up for on the battlefield. Andrea Tistro Age: 18 Bio: A beautiful young girl who has built up somewhat of an ego due to all the attention she’s received, Andrea agreed to join the team of recruits in an effort to pursue well-known life style. She hopes to eventually be able to learn to use her powers and skyrocket herself to fame and fortune. Her fighting skills are sub-par, but she’s an expert duelist. Unlike her brother, she’s extremely quick to anger with a wicked temper. Her weapon, a short-sword, has powers that she has yet to unlock, but it seems to vary depending on her rage. 4.16.13 "Mysteries of Erebos" Set List & Episode Preview With the premiere date less than two weeks away at this point, the http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/300239-mysteries-of-erebos-100-card-set-6-months-in-the-making/]Official Set that correlates with the Series has been released. In it are some generic cards, as well as support for archetypes and all NEW Archetypes such as "Mayhem Beasts", which will see play throughout the series by Alistair, one of the main Protagonists. On top of that, there are some other random cards in there, feel free to take a look. Though I'm not expecting all sorts of replies, as it's more for reference than anything else. The first episode, titled (subject to change) The Revitalized Spirit! Let the Games Begin! will premiere on April 28, 2013 (subject to change) and will introduce our main cast, including Calle Anden who will reprise his role as a secondary Main Protagonist. Following the lead of the first Series with a somewhat unorthodox start, Main Character Calion won't appear right off the bat, for reasons clearly explained with the first Series' conclusion. Abandoning his research career (for now) to try and understand his powers, Calle agrees to take on a leadership position overseeing four young upstart duelists, all of whom are empowered with Rakurai. However, these young novices don't exactly seem to like each other much...which could pose a problem when the goal is to eventually get them to work together as a team. Just as Calle was hoping to catch a break after the fierce battles with Lucien, he finds himself back in a less-than-fun position; sorting out this chaotic mess! Ren✧
I've always wanted to read D-Accel, but I have always been intimidated by the huge amount of chapters that just kept building and building. I would LOVE to read this new series, provided I don't get too confused. What is this talk of powers? I am sure this is covered extensively in D-Accel, but you know... As for deck types: Alistair: considering he is a 'rock star'...if you could somehow incorporate Symphonic Warriors, that would be really impressive...seeing as they are a VERY unsupported and relatively unheard of archetype...I am assuming though he will probably use the Djinns. Skylar: Burning Knucklers? Damien: Mermails maybe? This one is hard to say. Andrea: Incarnate Dragons...as much as I hate to say it...

Same here I always wanted to read Accel and 24, but got to intimidated at the amount of chapters. Anyway for your characters as you have them right now Alisair: I agree with Renegade here Symphonic Warriors for him Skylar: Guardians; I see him as kind of a Raphael sort of character so that's what I thought about for him. That or White Knight, because they also seem like a I don't give two s***s kind of archetype. Damien: Heraldic... maybe? I don't know he seems like a kind of intellectual kind of person, and Heraldic/Heraldic Beast/Heraldry seems that way as well. Andrea: Well if you don't mind using cards whose lore isn't "official" yet, you could use the "Fascinating" archetype for her. She's the pretty girl, but on the inside she's a monster waiting to get free. If not maybe like a Blue-Eyes or Hieratic deck. I tried picking archetypes that aren't used to commonly, just because its more fun to see under used/ under supported cards better that meta archetypes. Synchronized
I'll definitely answer you guys in more detail but a few things to note: The Main Character of the series plays Heraldics & will carry over to the next series... There will definitely be a prologue (told in story form) recapping the first series In addition we'll be giving away DN premium memberships with the premiere
Synchronized
Same here I always wanted to read Accel and 24, but got to intimidated at the amount of chapters. Anyway for your characters as you have them right now Alisair: I agree with Renegade here Symphonic Warriors for him Alistair will more than likely be the only character with a custom Deck. He'll be playing a series of monsters known as "Mayhem Beasts", which were designed specifically for his character and introduce a somewhat different game mechanic. The way we have it planned out right now will see Alistair in the first duel, so a few of the "Mayhem Beasts" will make their debuts there. Skylar: Guardians; I see him as kind of a Raphael sort of character so that's what I thought about for him. That or White Knight, because they also seem like a I don't give two s***s kind of archetype. Damien: Heraldic... maybe? I don't know he seems like a kind of intellectual kind of person, and Heraldic/Heraldic Beast/Heraldry seems that way as well. Definitely considering White Knight for Skylar. It's a very real possibility and somewhat different than what we had been considering before. As for Damien, like I said Heraldics are already very prevalent throughout the first series and I can't have another character use them, but I'm definitely open to other ideas for him. Fascination could be cool, but I also think Elemental Dragons would be a good concept for her, and there's already rumblings of that in the first series (even though she hasn't been introduced yet). I've always wanted to read D-Accel, but I have always been intimidated by the huge amount of chapters that just kept building and building. I would LOVE to read this new series, provided I don't get too confused. What is this talk of powers? I am sure this is covered extensively in D-Accel, but you know... It will definitely be covered in detail in a prologue (told in "story" form) so that you guys don't have to go ahead and read all the episodes (although you could). I'm glad to see that we've got a lot of potential readers and I guarantee you won't be disappointed by the new series! Didn't consider Burning Knucklers, but that might be doable. Will have to look into it a bit more. Mermails have already seen their relevance in the first series and I'd like to stray away from some of the 'Meta' archetypes in the second Series. We've got to do a bit more planning for that. Incarnate/Elemental Dragons is definitely possible for Andrea.
Ren✧
I would really like to see Harpies introduced. I could see them fitting with Damien, seeing as the Harpies are hunters and like all good hunters require patience, cunning, and intelligence. I could also see Fire Kings being played with this guy...although I don't know if that counts as meta and I totally understand staying away from the meta. Eager to see what Mayhem Beasts have to bring to the plate.

Eager to see what Mayhem Beasts have to bring to the plate. It's not even that Fire Kings are Meta, it's that Fire Fists already saw play as one of the Main Antagonists' builds in the first series, and he's just about to have his plot resolve in 73, so that's still extremely new in terms of a Deck-Type that's been relevant throughout the series. Harpies are another thing to consider, and it's something I didn't think about. Keeping in mind that two of the characters from the previous series (the main character and the sub-main character) will carry over, one of them playing Heraldics and the other one playing Phantom Beastcrafts. So there's still plenty of options out there.
