Honor-bound Blader

A card set idea that I might want to pitch here before making.

Honor-bound Blader

4 stars

Warrior-type

LIGHT (EARTH?)

Monster/Effect

1600/500

During the end phase: if this card was sent to the graveyard except as a result of battle, you can special summon this card from the graveyard and increase its original ATK by 500. This card can only be used as an xyz material for the xyz summon of a warrior-type monster. This card can only be used as a synchro material for the synchro summon of a warrior-type monster.

Overly weak as most cards are removed from the field by card effects nowadays.

perhaps you misread. You can special summon it from the grave if it was destroyed by anything EXCEPT by battle.

That's the theme of the honorbound, they come back until they're killed honorably on the field of battle.

Go with LIGHT.

I actually like this idea, and I agree, go with Light. (MFW Beckoning Light). I am a sucker for good warriors, and as of yet there hasn't been an overwhelmingly great set yet. Having cards that can pretty much only be stopped by battle can be pretty annoying, so I like the theme.

Question:

Should I errata the set to make it so discarding them/sending from deck to grave etc. doesn't work (like with the aforementioned beckoning light combo). It would be pretty OP to generate that much advantage, but on the other hand, they're all on the field on your opponent's turn, ready to get wrecked by your opponent's play, and it does fit with the theme of challenging your opponent in the ring of honor.

Also should I errata so It works so that they come back from the banished zone? This means that they would come back no matter what (bar spinning them or bouncing them) and would function under macro.

New effect:

If this card is sent from the field to the graveyard or banished zone except by battle: Special summon this card during the end phase and increase its original ATK by 500. This card cannot be used as a synchro material for a non warrior-type monster or as xyz material for a non warrior-type monster.
