When a card or effect is activated that would remove "Macro Cosmos" from the field: Negate the activation, and if you do banish that card, then, if that card or effect was controlled by your opponent, inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each card banished this turn.

When a card or effect is activated that would remove "Macro Cosmos" from the field: Negate the activation, and if you do banish that card, then, if that card or effect was controlled by your opponent, banish your opponent's hand and inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each card banished this turn by this card's effect.

 
 

While the additional effect is incredibly harsh, I really couldn't think of a better way to make a card that is literally just "prevent Macro from leaving the field" more usable. Anyways, because it's a support card for one specific card, it's probably not super-broken regardless of the poor design. Also, the original idea for this card inadvertently would allow a player to MST their own Macro, then chain this card to banish the opponent's hand, so I added a condition to that portion of the effect.

Secondary effect is now less stupid.

So, comment, rate, OCG fix? And possible suggestion about less drastic 'punishment' effects?

Like you said, it's in no way well designed. Depending on a specific card isn't exactly an argument, considering things like Royal Tribute exist, which is admittedly attached to a much more searchable card. In exchange, this is more situational but much more powerful. It's awful card design, and you admit you just gave it more to make it "usable", which is never, ever a good reason for outright bad design, especially in the form of attacking the hand like this.

 

You try to get over the thing ruining your deck? Too bad, you lose your hand, too.

 

I mean, this makes Starlight Road look fair, when put side-by-side with a Macro on the field.

 

Maybe pop an S/T they have as punishment. You shouldn't be trying to 1-up existing badly designed cards.

 

Not going to lock it outright, due to you at least acknowledging it needs fixes, but I'm keeping an eye on this thread.

I'll admit, this was mostly done to take the concept TCG has of "it's tied to a specific card being face-up, so it's bad/unusable regardless of how poorly designed it is" to it's illogical extreme. The Macro Heavy Storm I posted a day or two ago was also part of that. That said, the burn damage is the only non-stupid part of the secondary effect so this effect should be better:

as if quick-play dark hole wouldn't be broken beyond belief if it weren't tied to Macro...
