Number 50: Blackship Of Corn

Recommended Posts

Very important thing about this card is that you don't need to attack to use it. This allows you to stay in Main Phase 1 if the kill fails for whatever reason, and forces your opponent to activate their Lances and Tensens in advance. It also allows you to take out an extra goon after attacking with two Level 4 monsters or with one Guaiba.

so does papill. and papill is far more likely to be used more than a single time.

This same argument happens every time one of these cards is brought up here and it's fucking stupid. Papi and Corn are used in different situations and if running a rank 4 focused deck, you should have both in with no thougt about it to begin with. If you only have the space for one, you should reevaluate your deck buiding choices.

except not at all. s: i know theyre useful for different situations. it just so happens that papi is useful in MORE. corn has very little going for it. it is very possible to have room for only 1, if you consider that if your deck has access to non-generic rank 4's (dino rabbit, heroes) you should probably be picking those first, likely leaving you with very little in terms of room for generics.

settle the hell down, especially if youre not gonna be right anyways.

Raking some hell.

Which of these things can Papilloperative do?

you dont need to go into battle phase for papill either. if for whatever reason the monster you switch is something that mystically wipes out all your monsters, you can still use any sort of removal to get the job done. and if you havent normal summoned yet (which is possible since youre more likely to resolve papill more than one fucking time, just throw down a monster to take care of it. also they wont use a lance or tensen ahead of time. theyll just....uhhh....usually take the 1k and move on with their life.

also, if you guaiba into blackship youve almost certainly made a huge mistake, unless its game right there and even in that case cowboy is 200 points less and useful in far more situations (doesnt conflict with macro. ignores fader's tendency to banish itself, isnt reliant on your opponent having monsters, or anything).

or, if thats too long for you, youre wrong. youre not raking hell. youre barely making sense.

because clearly, they'll never have an answer to papi the first time but always have it for corn

no, but whats your opponent gonna do against corn? set a monster. whoops. now you gotta basically just blindly swing with what at that time amounts to a 2100 vanilla and hope you dont run into something thatll kill you. with papill they either have to set and risk her effect (and since this is again, not her first use, you have a normal summon in case something goes wrong) or they have to summon a monster in attack, which is usually ideal for you. this isnt about answers. this is about game mechanics. ._.
