Making a Rank 9. How Hard Can It Be? [Toyo Single]

When Safebooru gives you an epic pic, you go make a card out of it and crop it like a moron.

When this card is Xyz Summoned, neither players can activate Spell and Trap cards until the next turn. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when your opponent activates an effect that would remove a card(s) you control: you can Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Negate the activation of that card and Destroy it.[/spoiler]

 

Use Tannhauser's Gate or Galaxy Queen's Light, get Stardust and Cold Wave. im gud cardmaker ryte?

Toyo, you're a decent cardmaker, but I have to be honest here, you should probably read into how card text and OCG works, you see, you kinda messed up here, but I'll explain that when I'm done with the review.

The card is pretty good, it covers most bases on it's negate effect, but still retains a somewhat low ATK (for a Rank 8 or higher that is) and is a OPT so it's possible to get around it and doesn't have anything to powerful to it. It can keep everything alive, but also makes you unable to combo with Spells/Traps, but as well keeps your opponent from doing the same for quite awhile because of it's effect. Not quite sure what it does as Psychic when it looks more like a Rock-Type monster, but that's it's your choice I suppose. Not half bad, a nice addition for Rank 9s with nice DEF stats to boost, but also kinda generic and doesn't have anything to really top it over the edge, but still a nice staple. Now what is bad is your OCG and the fact that you put a Continuous Effect as a Trigger Effect instead, which makes no sense at all. Look at this, and you should see what I mean. There's also a part at the end that you kinda messed up on. Anyway, OCG fix on the way!

(I changed this completely as you made it quite confusing, you see the wrote it, you make it seem like it's for every card and by battle at first, but later you say "the activation of that card" which means that this would only apply to Spells and Traps being activated, not to effects of already face-up Spell and Traps and Monsters. If you actually mean it to be that way, you should consider rewording your card, but for now, I have written it with the way it would work if you just looked at it).

I made it Physics because screw the rules. Also, the fact that I keep making my cards with bad OCG despite there being and in-depth OCG guide is sort of a running gag now. Might as well as start calling it "Toyo Card Grammar". Anyway, I fixed the wording a bit and yes, I meant the last effect as to being able to negate monster effects as well.

It's still kind of messed up, first off, you didn't put in "or by battle". Also, something you might like to know is that this only negates effects, not activations of cards, meaning that BTH can still get around this. You should write it like this if you want to cover ALL bases: 

Once per turn, during either player's turn, when your opponent would activate a Spell/Trap Card, the effect of a Spell/Trap Card or monster effect that would remove a card(s) you control: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the activation or effect and destroy it.

It's still kind of messed up, first off, you didn't put in "or by battle".

 

You might want to delete that bit because I edited it. 

 

Also, I thought negating the effect of a card achieves the same purpose as negating the activation? The card can't negate Dark Hole's activation, but negates it's effect of destroying all monsters.

Actually, you might be right, but it doesn't work the other way around (if a card says activation, it can't negate already face-up cards).

 

EDIT: I think this is correct:

 

Once per turn, during either player's turn, when your opponent would activate the effect of a Spell or Trap Card or monster effect that would remove a card(s) you control: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the activation or effect and destroy it.

hey dude you relize that the card u made would be pretty hard to support, i mean it could kinda support other cards and itself, but it would be hard to support or build off it.

 

Umm... Yeah. 

There is [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Tannhauser_Gate]Tannhauser's Gate[/url] and [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Galaxy_Queen%27s_Light]Galaxy Queen's Light[/url]. Both of which are support for high Rank Xyz. Also, I don't get your point about "build off it". Are you suggesting making a deck based off this is hard? Well, I think you can easily make a decent Rank 9 deck with This, the aforementioned Tannhauser's Gate and Galaxy Queen's Light, Dyson Sphere and Heart-eartH Dragon.
