Then, because it doesn't say randomly, but you send 1 card to from the hand to the Graveyard, you can effectively look into your opponent's hand and mess up with their strategy just because they battled with your monster? Seems like fair card design to me[/sarcasm]. It would still be random because it never said to look at your opponents hand. It's basically just a different way of wording "your opponent discards 1 random card".
