radiance is miles better because it actually has a usable attack stat. defense in a monster is mostly meaningless. the level 3 bit is another bonus because it can go into leviair which is a pretty dang cool combo. light has rank 4's which are useful in themselves but youre never gonna have light out long enough to take advantage of that AND its effect.

BoL has more chances of survival, but if you just Normal Summon it, then you give it a big "hey! Hit me!" sign. You cannot even use Honest to defend it.

You can't use Honest to defend Radiance either, unless you first use Chalice on it. Honest is sent to the Graveyard as a cost.
