Horn of the Phantom Beast

Recommended Posts

I was looking around the Wikia, and I looked at Susanoo's tips page and found this card. It could be pretty neat, allowing you to draw a lot of cards, plus it boosts him up to 3200, it's too bad that it's kinda slow, and if it's destroyed, you're pretty much screwed. But it can be used in the Damage Step, so your opponent might Honest when you use this, and then in Damage Calculation you can just bring out Habakiri and be like, screw you! I'll try this out in my Bujin Deck and see how it goes.

It's a damn good card. No question about that. And yeah, it works fairly well in War Gods too. I personally think the deck would be better off running more anti-meta traps over Horns, but it's certainly a viable choice nonetheless.

define "anti-meta".

Works especially well in War Gods.

Edit: Because pictures are worth more than words.

You're not serious right? I mean, yeah it's anti-meta, but it's also gone in about 2 seconds. Can work sorta well in Bujin I suppose, but there are times where you want to go into Susanoo. Also, OP card is not more anti-meta than this, just so you know.

I'm dead set serious. It's so incredibly good against virtually all decks now and War Gods are the perfect deck for it. And how is it gone in 2 seconds? Not many decks run MST anymore, especially the top ones like E-Dragons and Prophecy, and they wont always draw it anyway, so other than that, there's not much that will destroy it, seeing as most outs decks have now rely on special summoning. Chaining this to a mini discard can single-handedly win against E-Dragons, and can be a big nuisance for other decks like Verz and Merlantean. The cards that protect Yamato are either sent from the hand to the grave or Banished from the grave, so it doesn't interfere with it at all. Having Hetsuka in grave and Habakiri in hand (which happens all the time, and is usually as simple as summoning Yamato) and having Emptiness down pretty much covers all bases, and you can still control the opponent with other hand traps like Veiler as well.

And if you ever do need to go into Susanoo or another Extra deck monster, you can easily destroy Emptiness yourself and doing so is virtually always completely at your beck and call. It acts like a royal oppression for the deck that you can shut off whenever you like.

There are some points in here, but all E-Dragons have to do is Summon a monster, wait, and then they will get going again, plus they have other Discard effect, one of which destroys any card on the field and so does Draco. I mean, yeah, it can work in there I suppose, but getting rid of it is easy as heck. Anyway, we're talking about Horn here, if you want to talk about Vanity, make a thread for it.

What do you mean? If they summon or set a monster, you just run over it with Yamato and keep beating them down. You do realize it says from YOUR field or Deck right? Also, the odds of them having Blaster + another Fire aren't that great, and if they pop emptiness while it's face-down, that's just a simple 1 for 1 and wont hurt you. If you chain it to a mini discard, that's a -2 for them, and further locks them down until they draw one of their very few answers. If they Blaster Yamato, trying to get a 2-for-2, you can just banish your Hetsuka from the grave and stop Yamato from being destroyed, keeping emptiness intact. And Dracossack isn't an out to it, because Emptiness wont even let it come out. Emptiness is actually even better than Ophion against E-Dragons, because they don't have as many outs to it (Metaion, Tsuk, Exploder Dragon, Rank 4's etc), and can often automatically win games against them.

Oh I see. I thought it said the Graveyard. Makes it a bit harder I suppose. But then again, they could just for god sake run that MST and take the oh so bad "dead draw" in a Deck which can get cards to the hand freaking easily.

Vanity's Emptiness has always been a pro card.

Chain it to any effect trying to SS something and stop it. Basically shuts down EDragons and is pretty cool against a few decks.

OT: I miss when running this was like the best thing ever.

Ojama Trio + Final Attack Orders + Horn + Susanoo

tell me more about how you can send tokens to the grave

That said, card tends to be winmoar as hell and only has a few truly solid uses. For everythign else, lance tends to be >>>>>>>> this.
