When this card is added from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand by a card effect: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. You must control a "Mermail" monster to activate and to resolve this effect. When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Mermail" monster: You can target 1 Level 3 or lower "Mermail" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. You can only use 1 "Mermail Abyssdine" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

 

Discuss this card that I (and apparently Konami) hate so much. Its art is adorable, and I, well, adore that, but the effect just keeps getting worse with every new Mermail. Two effects that are clearly meant to work together can't. Misses the timing, so can't work with Oceabyss (the only Level 3 Mermail that misses the timing, btw)

This can also be said for a whole load of other Mermails. They're not dreadful cards but they have way too much competition. This thing is pretty much useless nowadays.

Due to Oceabyss making stuff miss timing, the only realistic way of dropping this is with gunde or linde, and in both scenarios, there are much better things to grab from your grave or deck than a level 3 mermail.

You are using Linde or Gunde to get this and Linde or Gunde. Or you could use them to get a single Spike or Megalo. It depends what your opponent has left when you bring it out.
