First, here is the Support card!

Lore:

When this card is activated; other cards cannot be activated in response to this card's activation.

Once per turn; during either player's turn(except during the Battle Phase): All "Barrier Statue" cards gain a 2000 point Barrier(Max:2500).

If this card's effect was not activated during a turn: it is activated during the End Phase.

After the first activation, the effect is halved.

Okay, so now that you have seen the card, its time to explain how "Barriers" work.

Firstly, Barriers are only used during the battle phase, it literally has no importance during any other phase.

Second, the idea of a barrier is as simple as it seems, it protects a creature from other monster's attacks!

Third, Barriers can reduce Battle Damage, either by a little or by a lot!

Lastly, Barriers prevent the destruction of cards of which they are on.

All of the following situations are as is, All ATK values are not modified, there are no increases or decreases in the values.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ex1: Let's say you have a "Barrier Statue" in Face-up ATK position with 2000 Barrier points, and your opponent has a Blue-Eyes White Dragon on their side of the field.
That's 1000 ATK vs 3000 ATK...B.E.W.D should most definitely win and destroy the barrier statue!!! Wrong.
The way a barrier works is almost like absorbing the opposing monsters attack, IF they are attacking the monster with the barrier.
So let's say Blue eyes attacks, the Barrier on the "Barrier Statue" is completely depleted from the attack, but your "Barrier Statue" is not destroyed by battle.
No Battle damage is done because the Barrier temporarily removed 2000 ATK from Blue eyes during Damage calculation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ex2: You have a "Barrier Statue" monster with 2000 Barrier points and your opponent has TWO 1900 ATK monsters, all 3 cards are in Face-up ATK position.

Your opponent attacks with one of the monsters, your Barrier on that "Barrier Statue" would go down to 100 points. You would take no Battle Damage and the barrier statue would NOT be destroyed.

Alright, now your opponent attacks with his other 1900 ATK monster. Since there is only 100 points on the Barrier you would subtract the Barrier points from your opponent's monster's ATK and inflict that as Battle Damage(1800 points of damage). Yes, the "Barrier Statue" monster is still not destroyed.

Any other attacks after the Barrier is depleted, will destroy the monster(given the attacking monster's ATK is higher) and inflicts proper Battle Damage.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ex3: You have a Barrier on a "Barrier Statue" with 1000 points on it. Your opponent has a Tyrant Dragon. Both cards are in Face-up ATK position.
Your opponent attacks the "Barrier Statue" card that you control and eliminates the Barrier. 2900(ATK)-1000(Barrier points)-1000("Barrier Statue ATK)=900...you take 900 Battle Damage.
Since your "Barrier Statue" is still on the field(Because of the Barrier)Tyrant Dragon's effect activates and he attacks again, destroying the "Barrier Statue" and then you take normal Battle Damage(1900 points of damage).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Recap!!!

What can Barriers do?:

Barriers prevent destruction of a monster(by battle) IF there are Barrier points on a monster. If there are no points on a monster, that monster can be destroyed.

Barriers can prevent Battle Damage.
