Weapon Master

This will my first post, I kind of stumbled upon this site by accident but after I found it, I was intrigued by the creativity originality shown here, although I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh a few years back, I always thought I had good ideas, that would make good cards, although I never actually thought of making any  . Anyway I've decided to try my hand at making something but since Synchro and XYZ monster are still new to me I'll start with an effect monster. I read up on the OCG and I think I mostly understand, but if I make a mistake feel free to correct me and any tips or constructive criticism would be welcome.  :)

Lore: When this card is Normal/Special Summoned: You can target 1 appropriate Equip Spell Card in your Graveyard; equip that target to this card. This card gains 500 ATK for each Equip Card equipped to this card. Once per turn: If this card would be destroyed by a card effect; destroy 1 equipped card instead. During your End phase if they are no cards equipped to this card: Destroy this card. Once per turn, you can activate 1 of these effects:
●Target 1 face-up Equip Card on the field that can be equipped to this card; equip it to this card.
●If they are 3 or more Cards equipped to this card: You can send 1 Equipped Card to the Graveyard to target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy that target. This card cannot attack the turn this effect is activated.

Well, it's a good effort to make Equip Cards more useful, though it is kind of meh. It's neat how it can kind of steal your opponent's, but since there arn't really many decks that run them anymore, I don't think it's very useful. The pop is alright, but it again takes too much effort, and the card probably won't stay alive long enough for it to work. Had this been Noble support, then it would have been pretty cool, but right now, it needs more to it in my book. I suggest making the no destroy also work for battles, since it will most likely die to battles before to effects, make it's ATK go up to 1200 maybe, and make it a Level 4 instead, since Xyz Summoning can be useful if this card can stay alive long enough, remove the destroy at the End Phase, seems like you want to get rid of this guy more than anything.

OCG fix:
When this card is [acronym="When you use both, you simply just say Summon(ed)"]Summoned[/acronym]: You can target 1 appropriate Equip Spell Card in your Graveyard; equip that target to this card. This card gains 500 ATK for each Equip Card equipped to this [acronym="when talking about something it does to itself, use it"]it[/acronym]. [background="You have a semi-colon here, indicating a cost or a target, there isn" t one, it should also be a Continuous effect, such as the one seen on Maestroke']Once per turn, if this card would be destroyed by a card effect, destroy 1 Equip Spell Card instead.[/background] During your [acronym="Phase is capitalized"]End Phase[/acronym] if they are no cards equipped to this card: Destroy this card.

Flip Summon is also a thing, which Mike_b didn't involve in the card effect, so him using "Normal Summoned/Special Summoned" is correct OCG.

Anyways, card is rather lackluster. Takes too much effort to be of any use, and is too weak in terms of stats, as it takes 3 Equip Spell Cards to take it to an acceptable amount of ATK to be able to run over at least some monsters. I suggest increasing its base ATK to at least 1000, or possibly even more. At least then it doesn't take so much effort for it to at least be able to attack over monsters and not be too easy to be ran over by your opponent.

Also, for the card to function at all, you need a consistent way of getting Equip Spell Cards to your hand. The only way released in-game at the moment is Hidden Armory and Power Tool Dragon, and you wouldn't be running the latter. So that only leaves you with 3 cards in a deck that restricts you from Normal Summoning or setting for using it. I would suggest you to change this effect, "●Target 1 face-up Equip Card on the field that can be equipped to this card; equip it to this card." to something in the lines of searching your deck for an Equip Spell Card and adding it to your hand.

You need to lower the condition for the last effect to 2 or more, because 3 or more just makes it harder to use. It takes too much work, and the payoff isn't worth the amount of time that you're investing to use that effect, and it's not even guaranteed that you'll get to use the effect (way too much removal in the game, so it surviving long enough to use its effect is unlikely to happen).

Oh, right, this is something I keep on forgetting, I always thought Normal Summon and Flip Summon was the same thing, so that is why I always just say that, but that is correct, they're not the same thing. Just keep it as it were then.

Ok here goes nothing.
1. Zazubat thanks for the critic under closer inspection I realized most of your points are spot on especially about the attack, I had original intended for him to be a little stronger, I have no idea what happened.
2. Before you mentioned it I had no idea the Noble cards even existed, like I said haven't played Yu-Gi-Oh in years, anyway he's a warrior so technical he could still work with the noble arms Equip spell cards
3. It sucks to hear that people don't generally run equip cards anymore I’ve always liked the idea of equip cards hence why I made this card (this instantly makes me feel old) :(
4. Now that I’ve done a little research on the those xyz cards I can see how making him level 4 can be beneficial.
5. Your right he doesn't need to die at the end phase he's not that strong anyway.
6. Zanda Panda you're right it does require a consistent way of getting Equip Spell Cards to your hand, didn't really think that part through, will change it.

Again thanks for the feed back, I’ll edit him. :)

Okay, I have to be straight up and say that was the most impressive first attempt at new OCG for a player that hasn't been around for a long time that I've ever seen. Bravo.

Moving on, you also didn't make an overpowered monster, as most new members do. You allow it to get an Equip card from the Graveyard, which is good, and this card gets an extra boost similar to that 1550 LIGHT monster, which is decent. It is safe to assume he will be around 1700 at least when he hits the board, which isn't bad for a Level 4 or lower. He has a nice protection effect, but he will drop a lot of power by doing so. The fact it is mandatory makes it so if you get Mirror Forced, he will save himself and just bash in with a really weak ATK Stat (unless you had other monsters on your field die to Mirror Force, in which case would force a replay). The last effect is really underpowered, in the sense that he is tempting the player to put all their eggs in a single basket, and doing so is never a good thing. He works well with the Noble Arms, which is good.

Suggestions:

Make the protection optional. "You can destroy 1 Equip Spell Card instead".

Make the last effect require 2 or more Equip Spell Cards as opposed to 3 OR allow him to attack in the same turn, preferbly the prior.

You could perhaps change the 1st "Once per turn" effect into a recycle of Equip Spell cards. The cost is up to you, either it be Discarding, banishing an Equip from the Grave, etc. etc.

Really good job on your first attempt, however. Keep it up.
