heraldry_lord
Number 33: Chronomaly Machu Mech [Rank 5/LIGHT/Machine/Xyz/Effect/ATK 2400/DEF 1500] 2 Level 5 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; inflict damage to your opponent equal to the difference between its original ATK and current ATK, and if you do, this card gains ATK equal to the damage inflicted. First, may I just say how much I love this guy's artwork? Whoever did the artwork for this and Atlandis needs to do it for a lot more cards IMO. With that out of the way, Machu Mech is IMO the true boss of the Chronomaly archetype (in practice), and his effect, while at first glance isn't anything special, is actually a very powerful one that only can be exploited with the right setup. Machu Mech inflicts Damage equal to the difference between the monster's original and current ATK, and it then gains the damage it inflicted PERMANENTLY. Yep, if the Damage is high enough, this card's ATK becomes incredibly massive, and this is what justifies it being Rank 5. This has spawned an actual OTK with Machu Mech, where it is combo'ed with Mini-Guts, and this particular OTK is the primary win condition for certain Chronomaly builds. In this OTK (which requires your opponent to have a face-up monster with an original ATK of AT LEAST 1900), you Summon a monster alongside Machu Mech, Tribute it for Mini-Guts and cut your opponent's monster's ATK down to 0, burn them for that monster's ATK with Machu Mech's effect, then Machu Mech gains that as ATK, and kills the weakened monster in battle, not only inflicting massive Battle Damage, but Mini-Guts itself burns them for the original ATK of the destroyed monster, thus completing the OTK. Of course, since Mini-Guts is not easily searchable, there are alternatives you can use to get by as far as using Machu Mech's effect goes, such as Darkworld Shackles or the recently released Chronomaly Cabrera Catapult (which I'm not too fond of, given the setup it needs to work). Gagaga is another deck that can seriously exploit Machu Mech, thanks to Gagaga Girl. When Gagaga Girl is used as one of Machu Mech's Xyz Materials, her effect kicks in, letting you cut the ATK of a Special Summoned monster your opponent controls down to 0. In summary, while his effect is relatively situational, it's powerful enough to warrant a deck centered around it, though, given how important Mini-Guts is to the combo, and the fact the OTK fails when Machu is Veilered or Breakthrough Skilled, it's best to have alternative win conditions in place, such as other Rank 5's. Aerion Brightflame
So you are ArmouryArm from DNF then? In which case: Deja Vu OT: How can something so cool looking be so irritatingly degenerate. The issue of it is, the buff it got from the anime, namely gaining the attack, and not being a responsive effect, basically meant whilst it got a use, it was in really gimmicky OTK decks. Which is sad, since it's a fething super weapon. But yeah.. it's badly designed, because the OTK's are it's only really viable use.

Toffee.
because the OTK's are it's only really viable use. It's only because Machu is designed to inflict ridiculous amounts of damage, given the potential of it's effect. So naturally people would want to maximize said damage, and as such, this card ends up being OTK-oriented.Hell, you could even use Shrink on a Blue-Eyes to inflict 1500 to the Opponent, and then do an additional 2400 through a battle between those two, for a total of 3900 damage.
