Therrion
When your opponent adds a card(s) to their hand, except by drawing, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). Your opponent cannot add cards from their Deck to their hand, except by drawing them. [spoiler=Design Notes] Well, I saw Koko make a TCG Meta oriented card and I decided to make one. I wanted it to punish searchers in a similar way to Rai-Oh, and function like Puppet King. It is slightly stronger then Cyber Dragon ATK wise, and is LIGHT for Eltanin fun if you want that. The effect symbolizes an ambush, coming out of the blue when everything seems to be according to plan, and creating a blockade of sorts, cutting off supply lines and thus deck searching. Thoughts? Snow_King
Hmm. "Mistake" on a 2200 monster body. Same ATK as Interplanetarypurplethorny Dragon, which is also a surprise summon from the hand. All very interesting.
Therrion
I could perhaps lower the ATK to 2000, honestly. I didn't know "Mistake" existed, but Mistake is basically just a Rai-Oh regardless.
Amanea
BALANCE Even and just retaliation against the meta-game's pervasive searching, a 2200 body is not overdone, as the effect it does not directly punch the opponent in the face, but rather confines their options depending on their overall reliance on searchers (thinking Dragon Rulers). It offers retribution against some of the most powerful effects. Even in Stun Decks, it doesn't push shutdown capability over the edge. Overall, this is very well balanced, and there's not much to argue. Maybe a more vicious twist could be implemented: "You can Special Summon this card (from your hand), then send those card(s) to the Graveyard." Then maybe lower ATK to 2000 for counterbalance, or give him a drawback: "During your turn, if you add a card(s) from your Deck to your hand, except by drawing: The effects of this card are negated until your next Standby Phase," although that seems a bit severe. FLAVOR I see that you really sought inspiration from Rai-Oh here, by the effect and more subtly, the Attribute. The sense of a surprise trap is really present in the effect, as it intercepts setup rather than confronting its consequences. The name and picture are both fitting; I get a feeling of suddenness by the spray of fog from which it's bursting. It's fascinating to see lockdown made with more utility than "Deck Lockdown" and "Mistake". I think he would provide much opportunity to slow down the ever-quickening meta-game. UTILITY I could see this rapidly becoming a Side Deck staple in the current Format, with Dragon Rulers and Prophecy cramming their hands with as many key cards in as little time as possible. Dragon Rulers would be forced to waste a Blaster on it early-game, if they don't open with six Dragons and no Blaster, which I can safely say is just shy of impossible. Machina Decks would also profit greatly from this splash, giving them a neat new shutdown gimmick. He'd also be a less potent splash in any surviving Chaos Dragon Decks (like mine c:), and a target for both Honest and Limiter Removal in Chaos Dragons and Machinas respectively. Even without support, he's a great, punishing roadblock. He'd also be a fantastic addition to Rank 5 Decks for much needed defensive/stalling potential without sacrificing too much efficiency. (Variable with the match-up, he'd be relatively easy to Summon just for the sake of overlaying.) All around, a simple, powerful, and interesting card. There's nothing that needs fixing per say, just options.
Kyng's Old Account
Flavour: Why the heck is all the Card Creators giving all the cards their delicious and minimalistic names?! It is like a Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream on a Sunday! My poor body won't last much longer at this rate. Anyway, love the name, and said name s more than well reflected within the card's effect, waiting for an opponent to let their guard down by searching in their resources box as it were. Then when this guy hits the scene, they're all like "Uhh, not making that mistake again" which neatly ties the bow on this guy's last part of his effect.Balance: I have to say that this card's greater Attack Strength is all but justified within the card itself. Firstly, this requires your opponent to be searching in order to Special Summon itself, in contrast to say The Tricky who can pop himself out with an easy peasy Discard, or Cyber Dragon by having a Monster Disadvantage. This requires more skill to be used. Also, this card is phrased so that it will let your opponent make use of that one search, but afterwards is like "Hell naw". So, I feel his stats are more than justified as is his effect.Use: I do not see this being Side Deckable in every Deck, as I do not think every single Deck can run it. It is undisputable that this card has great foundations in any Machine Deck currently in use, maybe an interesting tech for Cyber Dragons or Machinas, the former more so due to the correlating Attributes as well as being Overdragon Fuel. Not only that, but if any Deck does happen to have some space left over, this may have a reasonable chance to fill it in, and would easily find a home in many Anti-Meta Decks as well as Rank 5 Heavy Xyz Swarming Decks. The best thing about cards like this is that it is simple and it doesn't need a Mathematics Professor to use it. It has reasonable splashability.Fixes: None available, a well made card as it stands. I don't see any adjustment doing this card any good.
Therrion
Thank you both for your reviews ^^ Well, I guess this card is a wrap as it sounds like you two basically agree that it is just where it needs to be (with DA having suggestions, but I want to keep the card as simple as possible :P)
