high expectations

I just saw a news story and now I'm crapping myself at the moment,

let me explain: i live in England and am currently unemployed, for the past 3 years I've been at college earning my level 3 BTEC qualification in fabrication & welding (in case you don't know, this is a degree that is slightly above the minimum needed to get a £18,000 a year job)

a couple of weeks ago I applied for a apprenticeship for a company that is quite high level for someone of qualification, last Monday I got a call saying I was short listed, and had to complete a maths & English test which I did last Thursday, I was a bit sneaky and managed to see the results off everyone else, by comparison I did quite well.

later next week I am hoping to hear back and thought nothing more of it, until a few minuets ago my mother asked me to watch a recording of last Friday's news, in the broadcast was a news story that the company I have applied for and have a decent chance of getting a job with was being honoured with the queens award for enterprise due to being the leader of production in it's respective field.

now I've never been great with pressure, but this job feels like something that is far beyond my capabilities,

has anyone had something were going to something that you felt you weren't capable enough to do?

Unless the job somehow changes due to the news, it shouldn't be much different than before the award. Or will a lot of people be looking in to what you'd be doing because of the publicity? But either way, I feel like pressure sometimes makes people perform better, even though it doesn't feel very good initially.

For me I'm from California, I'm about to start college this fall at UCLA, and I couldn't feel more pressured lol..I don't feel as prepared as other people are going in, and taking electrical engineering sure doesn't make it seem easier. Also, my parents are helping me out with the costs, giving me a bigger reason not to screw up.
