Aix
Number 46: Draggluon the Ethereal Dragon LIGHT/Rank 8 [Dragon/Xyz/Effect] 2 Level 8 Dragon-Type monsters Once per turn, if this card is the only monster you control: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then activate 1 of these effects. ● Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type monster from your hand. ● Target 1 Dragon-Type monster your opponent controls; take control of that target. ● Until the end of your opponent's turn, the effects of all Dragon-Type monsters your opponent currently controls cannot be activated. Drain Dragon LIGHT/Level 8 [Dragon/Effect] Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by your Dragon-Type Xyz Monster's effect, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. When this card is Special Summoned while your Life Points are lower than your opponent's: This card gains ATK equal to the difference, but your opponent takes no battle damage this turn. This card cannot attack your opponent directly. At first I thought Draggluon said something like "Your opponent cannot activate the effects of Dragon-Type monsters" and I was like: "lololol, Photons > Dragon Rulers now" Drain Dragon is Special Summonable with both Draggluon and Queen Dragun Djinn, the latter would let you attack directly. heraldry_lord
Draggluon I think is only halfway-decent in a deck centered around him, since you need to make sure he's the only monster you have out. I actually like him a lot despite his nerf, and in a fun Draggluon.dek I made, I use Redox and Tidal to tutor the Mythic Wood and Water Dragons used to Summon him. In terms of what I Summon with his effect, I tend to pair him with White Night Dragon in the same deck, since White Night is WATER, which fits with the theme, it can resist targeting by backrow, and it provides Draggluon with limited protection from attacks (Draggluon had this built-in in the anime). I don't like Drain Dragon. Too many restrictions for my taste, and he's much better off being Summoned by Queen Dragun Djinn IMO since she negates his effect, letting him attack directly and inflict Battle Damage, and she's much easier to Summon than Draggluon. 玄魔の王
I wish Draggluong said "Until their next End Phase, your opponent cannot activate the effects of Dragon-Tyle Monsters", as it would completely lock Dragon Rulers.
