Delibirb
I randomly made the thought analogy "Yu-Gi-Oh is sort of like chess..." and just rolled with that idea for this new Archetype! The gimmick for the set is summoning monsters to your opponents side of the field in order to employ the alternate win condition which is introduced. Monsters: The figurehead for the set: White Chesspiece King LIGHT - Rock Level 10 ATK - 3000 / DEF - 2000 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "White Chesspiece Queen". If this card is selected as the target for a card effect that would destroy it, you can destroy 1 "White Chesspiece Rook" you control instead. If you control no "White Chesspiece" monsters, this card cannot attack. White Chesspiece Queen LIGHT - Rock Level 8 ATK - 2200 / DEF - 2300 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set except by Tributing 2 "White Chesspiece" monsters you control. Once per turn, while your opponent controls a "Black Chesspiece" monster, you can tribute this monster to Special Summon 1 "White Chesspiece King" from your hand. If you do, Special Summon 1 "Black Chesspiece Pawn" from your Deck to your opponent's side of the field in Attack Position. White Chesspiece Knight LIGHT - Rock Level 5 ATK - 1600 / DEF - 400 Once per turn, you can shuffle 1 "Black Chesspiece" monster your opponent controls back into your Deck; draw 1 card. White Chesspiece Bishop LIGHT - Rock Level 6 ATK - 1500 / DEF - 300 This card can attack twice per turn. If it does, Special Summon 1 "Black Chesspiece Rook" from your Deck to your opponent's side of the field in Defense Position. White Chesspiece Rook LIGHT - Rock Level 4 ATK - 1000 / DEF - 2000 If this card is destroyed by a card effect, Special Summon 1 "Black Chesspiece Bishop" from your Deck to your opponent's side of the field in Attack Position. White Chesspiece Pawn LIGHT - Rock Level 1 ATK - 0 / DEF - 0 This card cannot be destroyed by battle (Damage calculation is applied normally). You can Tribute this monster to add to your hand 1 "White Chesspiece" monster from your Deck. ===================== Black Chesspiece King DARK - Rock Level 10 ATK - 3000 / DEF - 2000 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Black Chesspiece Queen". This card can only attack while this monster's controller controls no "Black Chesspiece" monsters, and can only attack "White Chesspiece" monsters. White Chesspiece Queen DARK - Rock Level 8 ATK - 2200 / DEF - 2300 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Tributing 2 "Black Chesspiece" monsters your opponent controls, and only to your opponent's side of the field. If this card's controller controls no "Black Chesspiece" monsters during either player's End Phase, this card is Tributed to Special Summon 1 "Black Chesspiece King" from the player who Special Summoned this card's Deck in Attack Position. Black Chesspiece Knight DARK - Rock Level 5 ATK - 1600 / DEF - 400 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Tributing 1 "Black Chesspiece" monster from your opponent's side of the field, and only to your opponent's side of the field. Once per turn, this card's controller's opponent can shuffle 1 "White Chesspiece" monster from their hand back into their Deck, then draw 1 card. Black Chesspiece Bishop DARK - Rock Level 6 ATK - 1500 / DEF - 300 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "White Chesspiece Rook". This monster can attack twice per turn. If you do, the player who Special Summoned this monster can Special Summon 1 "White Chesspiece Rook" from their Deck to their side of the field. Black Chesspiece Rook DARK - Rock Level 4 ATK - 1000 / DEF - 2000 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "White Chesspiece Bishop". Black Chesspiece Pawn DARK - Rock Level 1 ATK - 0 / DEF - 0 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Once per turn, you can Special Summon this monster from your hand to your opponent's side of the field; you can Normal Summon 1 additional time this turn. Neither player takes Battle Damage from battles involving this card. Spells and Traps: The following trap is what allows the alternate win condition. Checkmate! Continuous Trap This Face-Up card cannot be removed from the field. Activate only when a "Chesspiece" monster is summoned to either side of the field. If there are 10 "Chesspiece" monsters on the field with different names, the controller of this card wins the Duel. Enchanted Chessboard Field Spell Other Field Spells cannot be activated. Once per turn, you can destroy 2 "Black Chesspiece" monster your opponent controls to Special Summon 1 "White Chesspiece" monster from your hand. It cannot attack this turn. If your opponent destroys a "White Chesspiece" monster by battle, they can destroy 1 "Black Chesspiece" monster they control to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower monster from their hand. Darthakin
10 DIFFERENT Chesspieces out = win? Interesting. It's not too overpowered I guess, since what ARE the odds? It's an interesting set, considering you use monsters to special summon to your opponents field, and then gain effects according to that. Very nice. Horu
Well it isn't exactly like chess but the concept and cards are fairly interesting.
