magemeek22
Its a little bit of a powerful card, so I'm not entirely sure if its balanced. However, here's just a quick run-down of what it does. Basically, this quick-play spell lets you Summon a Mythical Beast Cerberus by banishing a Spellcaster; in essence, the magician summons his steed to take his place. However, when the steed (Cerberus) is destroyed, the Spellcaster comes back, good as new! Its a sort of Steed-Spellcaster switcharoo! Activate only while you control a face-up Spellcaster-type monster. Banish 1 Spellcaster-type monster from your hand, Deck, Graveyard, or side of the field; Special Summon 1 "Mythical Beast Cerberus" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard and add 2 Spell Counters onto it. When a face-up "Mythical Beast Cerberus" is destroyed, send this face-up card to the Graveyard and Special Summon the monster banished by this card's effect. TRUE RULER^(Imper.Di )
I like this card ALOT. It requires a very Specific monster and gives it a very temporary boost in ATK then switching it out for something else. The only thing is you could SS Endymion like this which isn't all that bad. I can't say that there's anything inherently bad about this card, I'd wait for someone else to say something.
Davidakiis
I like it, if you think its a little overpowered you could change the effect to only be able to activate if you have a Spellcaster on the Field.
Not-so-Radiant Arin
it allows you fetch High Priestess/Reaper/any other Prophecy Spellcaster known to man. That's the only real thing that bothers me. I had to look up what exact card it was "Mythical Beast Cerberus" was. In short, making a boost for a single card, particularly an obscure one whose only purpose is in some kind of Tempest OTK, won't make your card that broken or insane by any stretch of the imagination. It only just brings out a 2400 beater that'll get destroyed next turn. And there's the rub. Because when its destroyed, this card gets sent, and you get back your High Priestess/Reaper/any other Prophecy Spellcaster known to man. The thing is, though, you would need to dedicate wasteful Deck space in order to make this card viable, otherwise it's just as dead as a doorknob. Prophecies wouldn't need to run this, seeming as how this would just clog the Deck or the hand. In any other circumstance, however, being able to Banish 1 from your Graveyard and bring it back next turn seems like a pretty cool thing to do. magemeek22
Yeah, what I was going for was a non-prophecy Spellcaster support (which, I might add, is profoundly difficult to do - at least for me); I figured that this card would do exactly that. Spell Counter decks may run Cerberus if they're feeling risky, and I figured that this card would add some really good support for any deck that uses spell counters. Its a great way to Spellcaster XYZ a Level 4, but at the same time, if you choose to not XYZ Summon with Cerberus, you benefit from being able to SS the monster banished by this spell. I figured that this would add some Spellcaster support that wouldn't make Prophecies/Spellbooks even more overpowered. Considering that it does require valuable deck space, i can't honestly see spellbooks using it, which I would say is a good thing. That said, is it still unbalanced? Not-so-Radiant Arin
It's okay to me. I generally don't think too highly on cards that support a single existing card, indirectly or otherwise. Like I had said, it's a slow way of getting back a monster in your Graveyard by going through the "jumping hoops circus" (Graveyard -> Banish -> Field)
