BatMed
2 Level 4 Monsters When you Summon a Thunder-Type monster(s), you can target 1 of those monsters and detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; destroy all face-up Attack Position monsters your opponent controls with DEF less than or equal to the ATK of the target. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect.
magemeek22
Congrats on a really good card. Seriously, I like this a lot. It's well designed, well thought out, and executed in a manner worthy of applause. Okay, moving past my pointless praises, there are some key points I would like to address: Artwork: Okay, I'll tell you this much: the first thing I look for in a card is artwork. I know you're not supposed to judge a book - or card - by its cover, but I beg to differ; in fact, I'll pretty much only review cards with good artwork. It shows that you either took the extra mile to find a perfectly-fitting piece of art or that you designed a card based perfectly on a random piece of art you found; either way, the artwork is clear, fitting, and really eye-catching. OCG: Minor errors here and there, but that's fine. Here's my revision (I cannot guarantee perfection but I fixed the more visible flaws): When you Summon a Thunder-Type monster(s), you can target 1 of those monsters and detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls with DEF less than or equal to the ATK of the target. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect. Card Effect Aspect 1: Usefulness: Well, I must say, this card is a pseudo-Dark Hole, but with very specific requirements. I honestly do think it works wonders, especially since it can be activated as soon as you Xyz Summon this thing. Its great for wrecking beatsticks and it really proves invaluable in "Hunder" Decks. When you Normal Summon Pa/Mahunder, you can use this effect to wipe out your opponent's main defenses and proceed to chip away at their Life Points - well, the next turn, since you can't activate your Battle Phase. Card Effect Aspect 2: Balance: This card is really nicely balanced; REALLY REALLY WELL DONE. Its ATK is not excessively high, and since only a few Thunder-type monsters can really pull this off, good stats are justifiable. Its easy to summon if used in a "Hunder" Deck, which is the only place where I would actually anticipate seeing this, so that makes it somewhat risky in terms of the easy Summoning requirements (2 Level 4 Thunder-type monsters). However, the effect that destroys your opponent's monsters balances out the Summoning problem quite well; since it only affects face-up monsters and it really prevents all Life Point Damage to your opponent (since you cant conduct your battle phase), the effect naturally limits itself. Further, the first time the effect is used (when the Xyz Monster is summoned), you can destroy basically all your opponent's monsters; however, the second time, when you activate the effect in response to the summon of Pa/Mahunder, it is less effective. Still, I feel a better limitation would be "face-up attack position" monsters that are destroyed; this way, you can't simply overcome all your opponent's defenses. It seems too easily exploited. Its fine when it reduces the offensive monsters your opponent controls, but it shouldn't really infringe on defense (in my opinion). However, this change is up for dispute. Overall: Artwork: 10/10 OCG: 9/10 Usefulness: 10/10 Balance: 9/10 AVERAGE 9.5/10 New card, with OCG changes: When you Summon a Thunder-Type monster(s), you can target 1 of those monsters and detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls with DEF less than or equal to the ATK of the target. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect. Potential changes that can be made (KEY WORD "POTENTIAL"): When you Summon a Thunder-Type monster(s), you can target 1 of those monsters and detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; destroy all face-up Attack Position monsters your opponent controls with DEF less than or equal to the ATK of the target. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect. I really don't know if this change is necessary so I hope someone else can give their input.
