Northern Sage
Counter Trap Card When your opponent's Xyz Monster attacks your Xyz Monster: Negate the effect of your opponent Xyz Monster, then take all Xyz Materials that monster and attach it to your Xyz Monster as Xyz Material. Kind of situational, but still, Counter Trap. Discuss.
Cute Rotten Yoshika
Negate the effect trash. if theyre attacking your xyz monster with their's, its probably not because they have a great effect to save them.

Cute Rotten Yoshika
2 examples, one that is just as often used for a completely different non-battle effect, and one that straight up isnt used. really aiming for the fences today folks

The point is that possible targets for this card do exist, so it isn't completely useless, and the more Yubel-esque Xyz's we get, the better this card gets. I wasn't disputing that it's trash though. Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Some protection-based Xyzs that you're using to ram/suicide, really.

I wasn't disputing that it's trash though. but that doesnt actually change anything. its still trash. think about how specific it is compared to other xyz support. other xyz support that still isnt run because its no good either. think about how much harder this is to use than that. with singular exceptions of xyz reborn and space cyclone (both due to ophion funnily enough) pretty much all cards that specifically require xyz monsters to work are not used. and the majority of them are more playable than this. and thats the end of the matter, until xyz with those sort of effects become extremely common to the exclusion of all others. which means probably never. Cute Rotten Yoshika
except again, you need to have their 104 with materials, attacking your xyz material. and to have this card. and out of it you get an attack that continues and a monster thats still sizably beefy. does the card have a non-zero potential? yes. but potential is so meaningless in this game. for this card to be useful we would need to be in a format where not just 1, or 2, or 3 xyz's have battle effects. it would have to be significant enough that you could expect it from ALMOST every deck. given our current xyz thats not happening. evilfusion
Keep in mind, this doesn't respond to an effect activating. It just responds to the attack to negate the effect(s) and steal the Overlay Units. I'm just not sure what situation this becomes superior to something that actually affects the monster, either by getting rid of it, or negating the attack itself. It's a solid card, just a bit outclassed by actual removal, like D-Prison or Mirror Force, especially since it requires an Xyz to battle one of your Xyz.
