Judgment Dragon

Recommended Posts

Every time this card gets brought up, I say the same thing and every time I get the same response, so allow me to do something different to prove a point.(NOTE: This is not to offend or act like any others are stupid. It's to make a point.)

Ahem, let us take some of the comments here and put them to other cards.

If you guys really can't see how silly you look to me now, than please just hear me out. Two things decide whether a card is broken or not: Design and Environment. Guess what those two rely on? OTHER CARDS. Let me give you an example. Let's say you're playing an FPS where there's a grenade that blows up anything in a twelve foot radius. OP'd right? Not if everyone has rocket launchers that do the same thing but are reload-able. When JD came out, nothing could answer him. He was the king and nobody liked him, in fact everyone hated him. Which is why they hate him now. It's a petty grudge for a card that has lost it's spot and is now in a good deck. Not okay, not great, just good. And he is the only thing that makes it playable.

So, design wise, he's broken, I can't fight that, but environment is a huge part, too. And what is he facing? Cards that come out as big as he does, faster than he does, and, because they get the leg up, end the game faster than he can. He's been crippled by the newer, better bosses, and play styles. Several staples kill or maim him, many of the new monsters run right over him, he just isn't the dragon he used to be. So, does he deserve to be at three? Maybe not, but is he really doing a huge load of pain there? No, because running an LS deck just to play him is seriously just not worth it anymore. It'll win you a few games, but that's about it.

I would like to point out that you're entire argument is, in response to everyone else, that it's fine because 3 different cards do what 1 card does by himself. Do you see how utterly idiotic that makes you seem? Comparing Machina Fortress to Judgment Dragon is stupid because Machina Fortress has a cost to actually be summoned and actually has a fair destruction effect. Black Rose is perfectly fine because you can't drop it give or take whenever you want. And you brought up Grapha, another card that everyone else wants to be banned. So you literally brought up 3 arguments which hold little to no ground. And why do you think this might be? Because, from what I've seen you post, you don't actually play the game from a perspective where you know what healthy cards actually are.

Also your analogy doesn't make sense. Judgment Dragon is not what you attempted to make it out to be, because he is in fact an automatic win button. Being able to throw down a 3000 ATK monster and proceeding to destroy more than 1 card is already a +1 in your favor. Any further cards and it becomes to the point where advantage is not recoverable. You act as if infinite resources are actually still a thing in the game since the revamp they did with the banlist, because I will tell you that it is definitely a thing of the past.

"No, because running an LS deck just to play him is seriously just not worth it anymore."

This is also the selling point for me. Have you actually bothered reading Raiden and Minerva? Because I'm pretty sure you haven't been able to see what kind of shit Judgment Dragon can actually do now that they have access to just about any good Synchro that they would want. Ancient Sacred Wyvern + Judgment Dragon is a game winning combo that is now incredibly easy to pull off. Usually this wouldn't be a problem if Judgment Dragon didn't say that you definitely got that Ancient Sacred Wyvern no matter what.

tl;dr - I don't think you can comment on Judgment Dragon any more because I don't feel you're very up to date with the game. You don't know a lot about what's going on and why so many people are up in arms about him being at 3.

I can respect that Koko. I don't play the game enough to be as knowledgeable as others on this site, though I am going to keep the opinion I hold, not for the sake of being outrageous, but because I'm still rather skeptical about how awfully amazing the card is. Do I regret some of the things I typed? Yeah, I feel it was done in a bit of a rush and didn't get across exactly how I felt, but it happens.

Also, thank you for not calling me an idiot and actually invalidating my argument.
