Text fix:

"Target 1 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. During the Main Phase 2 of the turn this card was activated, if that monster did not declare an attack, you can send it to the Graveyard and apply 1 of these effects, depending on its battle position.

*Attack Position: Gain Life Points equal to half of its ATK.

*Defense Position: Gain Life Points equal to half of its DEF."

This will only be played merely because of unrestricted revival. The latter half of its effect becomes largely irrelevant, as LP gain is not a good enough reason to not attack with the monster (let alone send it to the Graveyard), especially if attacking with that monster will end the game. If I want Life Points, I'd might as well be running Draining Shield.

On the other hand, if the player drew cards for not attacking with that monster and sending it to the Graveyard instead...

The last sentence isn't necessary. The first sentence is essentially "Special Summon 1 monster from your Graveyard", i.e. Monster Reborn. Monster Reborn is very powerful and is currently banned. The life-gain effect is icing on the cake although I can't imagine a situation where I'd use it instead of keeping the free monster. Even if losing the monster was mandatory, I would just it as Xyz Material or something. This needs some kind of drawback or condition to prevent that sort of thing.

Thanks for the TEXT fix Gadjiltron. Looking back on it, I knew there were some inconsistencies in how it was read. I need to study my TCG and OCG.

True. You make some excellent points. I've thought a lot about how this card would be used efficiently in an acutal duel. It might as well be as you say and be applied as an effect for an XYZ monster. Maybe the drawback could be requiring a tribute, or activating it and then destroying the monster on the player's End Phase if it didn't declare an attack, something like that, maybe.
