Paladins of Emeralda [IC/Started/Accepting Villains Only!]

Moderatus had only just begun to fly along his course towards his camp when a vaguely childlike voice rang out over the cool morning air.

"POP GOES THE WEASEL!! KEKEKEKE!"  The sound brought his attention around to the direction from which it had come, in time for him to see the spinning ball of energy hurtling towards him.  In a flash of motion that white blade of his was out of its scabbard and in his right hand while his left held the reins of his flying steed.  That energy attack which had been directed towards him was cleaved clean in half, the portions of the orb flying past him and his steed to explode somewhere in the distance past him.  Meanwhile, he brought his steed around and brought himself between that mysterious girl and the camp upon which she was raining energy.  More than a few of those bolts which she had unleashed were batted aside or otherwise made to no longer be harmful to the soldiers she was targeting.  The Bastard King then raised the tip of that legendary blade of his to aim it at the female, while an aura of golden light surrounded him and he was filled with the power of justice.  A small hammer emblem appeared briefly above his head when that aura appeared around him.

"I'm not normally one to let an assault upon my person pass, but in this case I find myself more curious than anything.  What reason have you for attacking me, young one?"  Behind the visor of his ivory helm, his face had taken on an expression of equal parts anger and curiosity; the latter of which was the only reason why he hadn't retaliated just yet.

She brushed her hair as she looked into the mirror, he gaze almost locked into a shallow form of self-regret. Her sigh was loud-her eyes followed her hands as she threw the brush onto the table and clambered into her battle gear once again, as she was ready to leave her room she heard what appeared to be a scream of pain and fear coming through the corridor and into her room. She froze of fright, as far as she knew the only people around were her and a couple of maids cleaning.

She brushed up the courage to peer through the doorway and saw what seemed to be a soldier clambering on top of one of the maids but it was odd this Soldier was wearing gear out of the norm, and then her head clicked into place, she whispered to herself in realization “Already… the reports said they wouldn’t be here for at least a few more days. “ Her eyes reset onto the soldier and a sudden fit of rage flew upon her.

She ran over her boots clambering and echoing throughout the hall, the soldier looked up as a boot came flying into his face knocking him to the floor. She slowly lifted up the maid and gave a rough smile before running off to hide. The Soldier spit out some blood and stood back up, he towered over her and drew a large sword.

His dark blue armour giving the sight of Obsidian. “You shall pay for that you little brat!” His booming voice almost blowing her back like a torrent of high powered wind, her eyes scolded at the sight of this Soldier drawing his blade. She leaped into the air and landed on top of him, her boots digging into his arms as she rode him like a surfboard. She then leaped into the air and smashed back down on top of him before catching blade out of the air and piercing his chest.

She then leapt off as the Soldier managed to lift himself back up “You… have no idea… Kid.” Her eyes glared at the voice, not long after she managed to pull him up and kick him into the wall and threw a giant ice shard into his chest, almost instantly pinning him to the wall and freezing the blood that slowly poured out.

The woman looked shocked at the sight, almost as if she hadn't seen or killed anyone before. Alas she had no time to cry over the sickening occurrence she began sprinting heading to the main wall to find the commander.

To think this would get so difficult. But to be fair, it was bound to happen; unfotunately, you have to expect the unexpected...

Especially in regards to what happens next...

Tsunugai couldn't believe his eyes. The black fog appeared once more somehow, but instead of the fog submerging itself into the whole area like before, it merely encumbered all the corpses in front of him. And when it retreated again, all he could see were bones of where the corpses lied. Next thing he knew, the bones arose as if they were animate. "Skeletons? Really!?" he yelled to himself. "How the hell am I gonna kill skeletons? Their brains are gone...right?" He then noticed something about the skeletons that he didn't even realize. Their ribs held what appeared to be what is keeping them animate. Kinda look like stones if you ask me... he thought. Whatever. Better to have some way to kill them then not at all.

Concentrating some lightning into his sword, he timed his strike carefully as the skeletons lines themselves up correctly. Beginning with a thrust to the weak point, Tsunugai activates his Chain Lightning spell, thus electrocuting not only the weak point of the skeleton in front of him, but of the skeletons that continue the chain. The weak points shattered after merely seconds of electrocution and the skeletons fell to the ground, inanimate once more. Tsunugai sighed, annoyed by how difficult this is getting. "Here I am, taking apart the undead, and I'm pretty sure one of us is already where we need to be."

Realizing he was in front of the castle, he remembered Rose was most likely trying to get out. Heading straight for the wheel for the main door, he began to rotate it counter-clockwise, slowly, to open the door. And because the door won''t stay open, he has to keep it in one position. Looking inside, he wondered if Rose was coming. Hopefully, she would hear him as he shouted, "ROSE!! The door is open! Hurry! I can't keep the door open for long!" His arms would give out soon enough. Hopefully, she makes it out before Tsunugai runs out of energy.

[Forcus]

From atop his perch on the castle wall, Forcus had not yet been enveloped by the fog. Looking down on the small fights still occurring, he notches another of his arrows preparing to fire down on a group of 3 zombies that where chasing after another civilian.

Using his air magic, Forcus clears the area of some of the fog while the arrow leaves his position, instantly igniting into a fireball the size of a small child.

Pausing for a while, Forcus feels a familiar, however new sensation to add to the four he already had felt for the past year. "So there is another of us?"

Surveying the direction the sensation is coming from, Forcus returns his bow behind his cape and jumps off of the wall, the wind already starting to catch his cape. Holding his cape like some sort of glider, he heads towards the new feeling noting the movements he sees below.

Landing in-front of an imposing figure wearing blue armour, Forcus recognises the resemblance to the King that he had periodicity seen both before and during his training. "So I suppose your hear to help us?" Suddenly dropping low, drawing one of his blades and sweeping his arm across him in one swift, seamless motion, another zombie falls while bursting into flames.

"Well, you can't be one of them; they haven't attacked one of their own. We must move around to the right, or we shall be swarmed in moments." Moving off towards the way he had indicated, he starts climbing the building there. Not even looking to see how Seth responds, the red ribbon emanating for his dagger follows him, clearly indicating to Seth the way Forcus had went... at least for a few seconds.

~Narrator~

The Paladin with the silver armor and the high collar was doing quite well for himself. He had managed to defeat many of the Obsidian Soldiers with a handful of seeds and some quick thinking. Even when the enemies were made into soul-hardened Zombies, their swarm tactics meant nothing to the paladin, though he might have found himself a bit weary. The battled had caused him to advance through the castle while fighting, to the extent that he was now at the main gate of the castle and need only exit to be that much closer to Gore...

Upon exiting the castle, if Cyrus were to do so, he would-of course-find himself faced with more Zombies, some Skeletons, and regular Obsidian Soldiers. He wouldn't be alone, however, because Forcas had also found himself face to face with the same wave. Forcas also seemed to have another man with him that looked as though he could hold his own in battle. Together, the three would fight the wave and make their way to Gore, hoping that their fellow Paladins would be there to fight along side them...

Viariun, after long awaiting for her partner's arrival, decided that Rubian needed to fall now. She looked to her side and said to her massive, demonic ally, "Ralley the Stealth Force, and have the Siege men on standby. We strike now." "As you wish, my liege.". He then turned and ripped open a massive portal to her realm and out came her horde of elite soldiers. They are both ready for combat, and ravenous like animals, granting them a combat style all their own. "Where are the Generals?", she inquired, "We are present ma'am." "Good, you three will come with me. Your squads will attack from the sides, except for the mage squads  they will postpone their attack until we sound the signal horn. Now, once you're all in location, the mages will notify each squad simultaneously, so we can all move in and conquer them quickly." she paused a moment  to look at all her soldiers, "If we encounter too much trouble, the Siege Force will move in, and we will need to attack full force. You have your orders, now move out!". They then all replied in perfect unison, "Yes ma'am!" and proceeded to move to their posts.

Once we capture Rubian and it's mages, we'll have some of our strongest magic-wielding enemies captured.

Then, capturing the other major cities will be a breeze.

Aria turned giving the flying horse man, a sidelong glance. She had already caused a good amount of damage to the 'Black Camp' and even picked off a few of the 'black soldiers'.

"Oh...? Your not dead yet...?" Aria turned fully around now, deciding someone who could survive an energy blast from her was at least worthy her full attention, "Why? Easy. Because your a bunch of murderous scum. Do you have any idea how many people have died cause of this stupid, petty war?" Aria let out a long huff, shaking her head.

"You humans are so ignorant, to anything that doesn't revolve around yourselves. Ignorance is a sin. Sins shall be punished. Now foul murderer feel my judgement! I call ye O Raging God Baalberith!" Runes flashed brightly as a magical circle summoned itself beneath Aria, a malevolent aura pooling out. Aria spread her arms wide, and closed her eyes, allowing the energy of the demonic god to flow into her.

"Now human I shall send you straight back to Hell!" Her eyes now open Aria's iris' were now a golden, and her voice was distorted with that of another, as if two were speaking as one. With a final glare a large spear of crackling lightening formed in Aria's hand, "DIE!!" was all the witch said before launching at the Bastard King.

"Of course I'm not dead.  You wouldn't expect the King of Britannia to fall to a simple hex like that?"  The king did wonder, briefly, how many people outside of his native land knew about the change in leadership, but that wasn't of much importance right now.  He truly was curious about this woman, at least until she struck a nerve with that "murderous scum" comment.  He'd been called a murderer before, and had resolved that not everyone would agree with his reasons for killing when he did, but the anger already awakening inside of him was more than enough to make that comment sting.  All the same, he remained where he was for now.

"A heathen god will grant you know power to strike down a champion of the heavens!"  He cried out, while once more swinging that legendary blade of his to intercept the lightning hurled at him.  Suicidal as this might have been for a more normal warrior, that blade of his actually cleaved the lightning in two and sent the resulting smaller spears flying off course from their intended target.  "You say many have died in this war, and have called it pointless.  Well I assure you that this war is not pointless!  We are here to remove an impotent king from power, and free the people of this land from the dominance of those alleged paladins once and for all!"  With that, he stretched out his left hand while divine power radiated from him once again.  An instant later, a burst of that very same power descended from on high with Aria as its intended target.  Should she happen to be struck by it, the power would not only cause significant harm to her while she wielded the powers of hell but also leave her stunned and therefore helpless, the sensation of said powers impacting her being something like an immense hammer falling upon her head.  In such a case, the king upon his pegasus would fly towards her and, hopefully, catch the witch before she fell to the ground.  Following that, his course would change and once again the king would find himself on the way to his army encamped around Topazion.  Witch or no witch, he still had an army to lead.

"Hahaha, foolish human your God does not save, but only destroys those who do not bow," Aria snarled, as large magic circle appeared above her head, sending the power of the almighty sword down into the Garnet Syndicate Camp, "your hollow excuses are meaningless in my eyes. The power of your incomplete God is nothing compared  to Master Baalberith! For the innocent a peaceful and pure life, but for the corrupt the pain of death!"

Seven magic circles surrounded Aria firing large white bolts of magical energy all directed at Moderatus.

Persona 3 OST - Master of Shadows

"Now human allow me to give you a little history lesson to show why your 'divine power' pales in comparison to the power of the Raging God," Aria glowered Moderatus, continuing her merciless onslaught, "In the ancient days before the time of kings the world was ruled by a being named Bel, this being's power surpassed even that of even the Great Darkness of Hell. When this being, Bel, was cast into hell do you know who received its power and memory? It was Master Baalberith. He now holds the power greater than all. Do you see? Do you see why your current struggle is so futile."

"Give up your pointless endeavor, and lay down your lives in repentance," Aria extended her arms outward as if beckoning to Moderatus, "or face the judgement of Hell."

Moderatus wasn't listening to anything Aria had to say anymore.  He took advantage of that brief lapse in her concentration that was used to deflect that strike to make an attack of his own.  His pegasus carried him at high speeds to close the gap between himself and the witch who had been so brash as to attack him.  Those pitiful little shots of magic were like the bites of gnats against him, bouncing uselessly off of his armor like bullets off the wall of a castle.  That aura around him also changed, as he was filled with the power of the holy martyrs that had gone before, and his blade seemed briefly to come alight with golden flames.

When he was but a meter from Aria, he leaped out of the saddle of his steed and gripped Clarent's hilt in both hands.  He intended to turn this from a ranged battle to one in melee, and as such he brought that weapon of his around and down in a hard slash towards the witch who believed herself to be stronger than himself.  Any thought of mercy was long gone from his mind, save the mercy of a quick death.
