jabber2033
So. The two most commonly-used "hand traps" in Yu-gi-oh! Which is better this format?
Not-so-Radiant Arin
Is Maxx "C" even used anymore? Like, I see NO ONE using Maxx "C" anymore. It's always Veiler.
Therrion
I believe Maxx "C". It dissuades further pushes that turn, and can usually pull 1 card to make up for itself. Veiler is simply a conditional -1 that disrupts a play, assuming they get a monster with a worthy enough of an effect to call for your making that monsters effect "Your opponent discards 1 card." Good as a win ensurer, but otherwise, you can feel bad with it in hand at times.
newhat
Veiler intercepts some plays that your opponent thinks are "safe" because you have nothing on the field. Maxx "C" is less of a control card and more of a splashable draw engine, since it can usually be ditched as a 0 at worst.
ZeRainbowDash
It depends on your deck really. If it's a turbo deck, then Maxx "C" gives you draw power at the cost of 1 card. and if you're playing something like Sams.... thats lots of drawing
BoricuaBeast
Yeah, in this current format where people are trying to improvise with this ban list and make the fastest deck possible, Maxx "C" would be a better option than Veiler. Since dumping Maxx "C", as Therrion stated, dissuades people from going hard on the same turn, and would either hold them down or have them give no choice but to do the so called "Maxx C Challenge". Veiler... It's good, yes, but you actually have to wait until the right time to use the effect, and it has to be on the right card. And people can get around it by doing extra plays.
