Cloudian - Smoke Ball. It is more than just a Normal Monster.
Smoke Balls are newly born Cloudians. They fear being alone, and would rather swing and sway in the sky with their friends.
The reason why this card deserves attention is because it is a contender for being one of the most supported cards in the game.  First of all, it is a WATER monster, meaning that it has access to a buttload of WATER support, including fodder purposes.  Being a Fairy-type also makes it useable with Herald of the Orange Light and Archlord Kristya, both of which are powerful gamechangers in their own right.  It is a Normal monster that is very easy to Summon with cards like Cloudian - Turbulence.  This means that White Elephant's Gift is runnable when used with this card, as with other cards that use Normal Monsters as fodder.  Finally, it is a Level 1 monster, which gives Cloudians access to monsters like Shyneet Magician and Shamoji Soldier (even if that card really isn't a desirable Rank 1).  Plus, with how Turbulence functions, you can effectively give each of your Cloudians an average of 3+ Fog Counters a Summon.

What am I getting at here?  Well, this card is effectively a win condition within the Cloudian Deck.  Because of how this card functions with the splashable amount of support that the Deck can receive, it's rarely dead.  In the hand, a player can summon it and use a powerful card effect that requires a Normal Monster to use, or the player can keep it in the hand to use Herald of the Orange Light's effect.  In the Deck, Turbulence can Summon it.  In the Graveyard, it has Turbulence as well as being a Fairy-type for Archlord Kristya.  Heck, even on the field, it's still is a Level 1 Cloudian whose Level can be boosted through Lemuria, which makes it even more useful.

He is a good vanilla. Props to that. Not all vanillas have a real purpose in the game. In fact, most don't.

Cloudians as a whole need something. I'm no expert, but things I can try to find out:

They probably are slow in gathering counters, so you find yourself with a weak Attack Position monster or two that will just keep getting hit for damage for a turn. It is also in need of you having extra cards to always have the chance of getting more counters and not being stuck with 2 on a certain Cloudian for a while, dead-drawing.

Well there's the Continuous Spell that works. Is it searchable?

Hopefully, Ghostricks don't kill Cloudians because they go face-down. It'd be horrible otherwise.

Then again, as the pumpkin king, I like horrible. You could say they got tricked into treating.

You don't need the Continuous Spell to play Cloudians.  In fact, besides the debatable Summon Cloud, most of the Spells and Traps in the archtype suck (The continuous Spell Card is useable in Nimbus Beat and Atlas Control).  Also, Cloudians have to be in face-up Defense Position to be destroyed.  face-down Defense Position doesn't trigger their destruction.
