[MAGIKARP] Wielder of the Bamboo Swords

[Magikarp!!!]

To be completely honest, I made this card out of boredom. I have always loved Broken Bamboo Sword and I thought it deserved a bit more support than just the two cards Konami gave us. Originally this was going to be generic rank 4, but then I remembered Royal Magical Library is level 4 and I didn't want this to be used in Exodia. Anyway, here is the card.

2 Level 4 Warrior-Type monsters

Unless this monster is equipped with a "Bamboo Sword" Equip Spell Card, its ATK and DEF are 0. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; add 1 "Bamboo Sword" Spell Card from your deck to your hand.

I like it, would be funny to use this as a searcher and target for bamboo sword. Makes the support cards for it a lot more consistent rather than relying on you drawing into sword.

I really like this card.

Not sure if it would break Bamboo Swords with their Pot of Greed and Draw lock, but I would say this card provides the right support: At worst, it will search Broken Bamboo Sword to fix his ATK in the same turn; at best, its detach effect becomes a Pot of Greed.

 

As for OCG fixes, using "unless" at the start of an effect is unusual, so instead I suggest the following:

If this card is not equipped with a "Bamboo Sword" Equip Spell Card, its ATK and DEF become 0. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; add 1 "Bamboo Sword" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.

 

The effect remains unchanged, but it is worded more properly, I think.
