OK, this is getting a tad annoying for me so I think it's time to vent my frustration into something positive and constructive...so here it goes...

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Rule 18:

-Contests will end on their posted end date. A maximium time of 7 days from the posted end date will be permitted for judgement and to announce a winner. Any contest exceeding this allotted time will result in the contest host being added to the blacklist. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule. If you PM a Mod/Admin or make an announcement in your contest thread stating that something out of your control has come up(illness, grounded, death in the family, .....) then you may avoid the penalties mentioned above. If you are shown to be on the forum list as being active and have just, for whatever reason, decided to ignore your contest then you will suffer the consequences.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Take it as it is or rewrite it however you want. I'm just sick of signing up for contests that don't end that are coming from people who have a decent amount of posts(this doesn't only apply to newbie contests). If a person cannot see a simple contest through from beginning to end then they have no business hosting contests on this forum.

Opinions? :D

What will happen to the people that participated in the contest? Does someone else decide judge? In my opinion there are people that are still going to do this so you should make someone judge and make that guy give them the needed the needed points, reps, and/or any special prizes (like appearing in fan fic). Oh and please don't double post. I know you had a reason but just don't do it. Get used to editing your other post.

Two things...

1. It was more than 24 hours since the previous post...so please don't read me the riot act on double posting. ;)

2. I believe that the either the contest should be voided(refunds of points paid if there were any) or the contest should be judged by one of the Contest Mods. In the event that it was an ellaborate multi-step contest then it's completely understandable that the Mods wouldn't want to bother with seeing it to it's conclusion, but if it's something simple then just picking a winner, IMHO, wouldn't be a huge deal.

Sorry about the thing for double posting, didn't mean to annoy you. I think those rules are fair. Since the majority of contests are easy it would go well. If the contest is a multi-step and has a fee the fee should be refunded if you don't grade it. Can Super Moderators make someone have less points. If so, they should take all points of whoever did the contest to cover fees or payments and then refund whoeever receives a fee or payment. Do you get what I mean (I'm pretty bad at explaining)?

Is a contest built like this legal?

There will be 3 judges per category. You may not enter a contest you choose to judge. That would be a conflict of interest.

Monster Judges: ________ _______ _______

Spell Judges: ________ ________ ________

Trap Judges: ________ ________ _________

Also, are you allowed to give out rep prizes while you don't actually have rep yourself?

I would like to suggest an adjustment to the rules. Since, in the last few days, actual spriting seems to be gaining popularity I would like the rules to reflect that Sprite Contest(not just Pokemon or Splicing or both) be acceptable forms of competition....please. :D

Translation:

Is it permissable to charge an entry fee in points to be able to participate in a contest? Then use those points as the prizes?

Personally, I don't see anything against this practice but I have seen many contests in the past that had a "Profit Margin" which was retained by the contest holder. IMHO, this practice should not be allowed.

Even if you did run a contest in this fashion I would suggest putting up the standard 3, 2, 1 Rep rewards so that you have something to give out beyond the points...especially if your turnout for the contest ends up being rather low. ;)

I have a question for Dj Osiris about ties. If two people tie for 1st, and rule 4 or 5 says that you can only give a maximum of 6 reps, is it legal to give 3 reps to both players and continue where the 3rd player gets 1 rep or how does that work? in my opinion of my own question, that rule about the 6 reps, is a good rule cus it makes sence.

rule 4 or 5 section 2 in my opinion of my rule, if ties take place where you add 3 plus 2 in rep points and get 5, that you should round up and give the top 2 players 3 reps each and continue with the 3rd place person getting 1 rep for that place. for the original rule, the points where stated as

1st 3 reps

2nd 2 reps

3rd 1 rep

but if a tie then they should state,

1st 3 reps tie with 2nd place winner so he or she gets 3 reps

3rd place then receives 1 rep as stated above.

if this makes sence to you or you are confused, please PM me and I will try to clear that up for you. thank you very much for being a good rule making moderator. I gave you a plus 1 rep for the awesome rules.

PS: this doesn't have to be a rule if you don't want it to be. again thank you.

then something else takes place like the original rules states but I'm not sure you can only give 6 reps. in the case of my question, you would be giving 7 reps due to 3 reps plus 3 reps plus 1 rep equals 7 this is why I'm asking about ties. if its 2nd and 3rd same concept.
