Solemn Silver
Cannot be Normal Summoned, unless you control a "Ghostrick" monster. Once per turn: You can change this card to face-down Defense Position. When you take damage by battle or by a card effect: You can discard this card; Special Summon 1 "Ghostrick" monster from your Deck in face-down Defense Position. You can only use this effect of "Ghostrick Mary" once per turn. I think this card was dicussed recently. But I'm trying to learn the deck, and I would like to discuss the deck as a whole. what are your opinions, will it ever be meta? Anti-Meta, etc? I personally find it's a slow-feeling, but very consistent deck. of course there's no huge beater in the deck outside of acid golem and #17, but Alucard by itself is a very strong card. For those of you who have no idea what the deck does, think naturias in the sense that some of the cards react to your opponent's moves, with a dash of Facedown Trickery. And Mary along with jianshi are their main searchers. So discuss what the deck will be like post LVAL,Pre-LVAL, etc.
Goose
Funny story about Ghostricks. I accidentally locked myself against Koko almost losing me the game. This looks good in them. I guess with Lantern it might be wasted, but access to Yuki or whatever the good one is seems really helpful.

Azuh
Problem is that the deck is just way to slow to set up and that the deck is so reliant on a fragile Field Spell. One an opponent stops your playa there is no coming back, and I would like to see a Ghostrick monster that revives a Ghostrick when it attacks directly
werewolfjedi
Problem is that the deck is just way to slow to set up and that the deck is so reliant on a fragile Field Spell. One an opponent stops your playa there is no coming back, and I would like to see a Ghostrick monster that revives a Ghostrick when it attacks directly I made the deck focus on the 1's and 3's and it ate people alive, and I didn't even need mansion most of the game. the real strength of the deck isn't easy to understand what with the way it goes, but I was actually holding my own against dragon rulers, and won about 90% of my games. and this card here was a key component, as it helped grab me jangchi for the repeating search effect, and generally once I start flipping it up and down, the game swiftly becomes mine. a very evil tech in this deck had actually been spirit barrier. because as long as I have all the hand responses I keep having monsters, and if I have the field spell out, they can't attack my face downs, and they can't deal damage in battle, so their ATK is useless. and finally for those games I have to be stalling, I run a copy of the reaper, to banish mill them every turn till they run out. I run the same variant, except my tech is gr witch. it works very nicely against meta decks.
Canadian
You have to think about them more or less as an engine. And that engine's purpose is basically to stall, forever. This is done via the main group of monsters: - Ghostrick Lantern - Ghostrick Frost - Ghostrick Jiangshi - Ghostrick Specter - Ghostrick Mary They will always allow you to keep your field presence by constantly floating monsters. The quantities to be ran for each of them is pretty debatable. If you're worried about losing hand advantage it is not a problem thanks to your Ghostrick Xyz's: - Ghostrick Alucard - Ghostrick Dullahan These monsters' effects are powerful in their own rights but where they really shine is in a deck that abuses the Ghostrick engine. This is because whenever they leave the field, you are able to add any Ghostrick piece you need back to your hand to continue your floating. While its not impossible to get outpaced by faster and more explosive decks, it is a very reactive and conservative deck that is able to play at a rather high level throughout the duel while getting stronger towards to end. I personally think they won't be a dominating factor in the upcoming format, but it would not be wise to ignore the play-style that this engine uses. I've seen many players not know how to play against this deck which allowed me to reap the benefits and swiftly dismantle their defences. It is very possible that a deck just might come along with the right pieces down the road and storm the meta using Ghostricks as it's centrepiece. If anyone is interested, I can post my deck recipe that has been having good results testing for the Jan 14 format.
Wildflame
I wonder if Ghostrick Burn is viable...
