"Azrael the Valiant"

Perhaps this should go to the "Pop Culture" Section... :/

Basically a generic Level 7 Synchro that is effectively a 2800 ATK beater that can't be Bottomless'd, is immune to ATK changes, and laughs at Messenger.  He's difficult to run over because of his beefy 2800 DEF that he automatically switches to after he attacks.  He's balanced IMO, because his first effect prevents Honest and Magnum Shield shenanigans, and Veiler screws him over big time.

"Azrael the Valiant"

[Monster|Effect|Synchro] Warrior/Light

[★★★★★★★] 1400/2800

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

This card's ATK cannot be changed except by its own effect. If this card attacks, its ATK is doubled during the Damage Step only, and is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase.
It's a good card that adds some versatility to Level 7 Synchros without being overpowered. I have a suggestion for the effect, however.
This card's ATK cannot be changed. Halve the ATK and DEF of any monster that battles with this card, during the Damage Step only. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked: Change it to Defense Position.
The first part of the change is just for effect clarification, since it now has one less clause. The second is there for consistency with other cards that change to Defense Position after attacking. It also makes more sense to switch at the end of the Battle Phase because that signals the end of the only period where the card can attack, and makes it easier to remember.

Doubling the ATK of Azrael and halving the ATK of the monster it battles is entirely different, although the outcome remains the same.  I prefer the former.

The second part is a lot better; I think I did indeed mean to write "At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked: Change it to Defense Position."

Fixed.
