Canadian
I have all the trouble in the world trying to get around this, but for some reason whenever I play it, its gone by my next turn. Maybe it will see more play this format? Discuss.
Blake
It saw more play last format than it'll probably see again for a year. Mythic Rulers were a thing and they were good. Now it's probably not going to see much of any play, as only Dark Worlds, Photons, and on rare occasion Sylvans can really get it out.
evilfusion
The problem is that only a few Decks consistently make Rank 8s, and not many of them are meta. This card is amazing, and probably THE best Rank 8. Even my Galaxy-Eyes bias has trouble denying that. It's a Veiler if you need one, but also gives the negated monster immunity from all card effects. It can protect itself, so if the opponent wants to kill it, they either must bait the negation for one of their monsters, or be able to swing over your monster without using effects. It can be played around, but it requires you to have two different, equally effective options to do so easily.
玄魔の王
It can be played around, but it requires you to have two different, equally effective options to do so easily. Or, y'know, you could just beat over it.
Aerion Brightflame
Or, y'know, you could just beat over it. It's harder than it sounds when you factor in this doubles as an effect negator. 2800 can still be hard to beat over when you factor that in. And this remains the single best rank 8 in existance. It's almost always going to be a good thing.
evilfusion
Or, y'know, you could just beat over it. With what? And by what method did you play a monster with over 2800 ATK? Since this card can negate Monster Effects, it's not always that easy to bring out monsters that have more ATK, and 2800 is actually pretty amazing to stand up to most threats. If you try to boost one of your monsters with a card effect, Felgrand might make that monster immune to card effects, wasting your resource and your chance. If you try to weaken Felgrand, it'll target itself, protecting itself from all forms of removal for the turn. It can be done, depending on the Deck you're using, But it's not always that simple, which makes this amazing. It's versatile and threatening. Tefnuit into Nebthet/Eset, search Labradorite, make Star Eater. Tefnuit into Su/another Tefnuit, pull Galaxy Serpent, make Jeweled Red/Colossal Fighter. Not always doable, but within my means. Every time I summoned shock master/abyssgaios/zenmaines in a nutshell.
Goose
Really hard to work around for me. My usual outs to a card are Chaos Sorc, Black Rose, Black Corn, Diamond Wolf and Hyperion. The only way to drop this is battle.
Canadian
I think people are starting to realize that this card is so good, it's worth making decks around it. I've seen people use Mythic Rulers (even for January 1st), Blue-Eyes variants, and even Ice Barriers decks too.
ihop
It's pretty fantastic, 2800 body that's immune to effects and can also negate effects if your opponent it trying to get over it. Idk whether it'll be used as much this format though, seeing as the ease at which Mythic Dragons could make it was second to none seeing as all you needed to do was banish dead multiples of Blue/Brown to get a monster which can help you win through Swift Scarecrow, leave you in arguably a better position than Dracossack does or just do far more for a normal summon than Dragons could normally have done.
