Elemental HERO Gold Rush (old Fusion update)

"Elemental HERO Captain Gold" + 1 Warrior-Type monster
Must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. When this card is Fusion Summoned: Add 1 "Skyscraper" card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. When this card declares an attack: Look at the top 5 cards of your Deck. If there is a "HERO" monster or Spell/Trap Card with "HERO" in its card text, you can reveal one of them to your opponent and add it to your hand. Then shuffle the rest back into your Deck.

 

I made this Fusion in 2010, and it originally required Captain Gold and Bladedge as Fusion Materials, and the last effect was essentially a copy of "Skyscraper". I believe that in those days the Omni-Heroes had not been released yet so Hero players had to build their decks around the Hero Fusions with specific materials, and thus a card like this was actually playable.

 

Nowadays, those Fusions are no longer, or rarely, used competitively as they all have been outclassed by HERO beat decks and Omni-Heroes, so I have updated this Fusion attempting to meet the standards of today's meta. With Stratos gone, I figured that a Fusion like this one would let HERO players build a deck around Skyscraper with decent results (probably nothing Tier 1, though). It requires a generic Warrior-Type as material to try to keep up with the Omni-Heroes and to be compatible with the non-HERO monsters the Deck can run, such as Xyzs and Photon Thrasher.

 

The last effect is kind of a reference to this card's name: The effect "digs" through the deck in search of a card (gold). In addition, it is a good way for gradually generating pluses and give HEROes a bit more of speed.

Mind sharing where you got 3000 ATK from?

 

That said, there isnt really that many issues with this card, HOWEVER, everytime it declares an attack, you get to search the top 5 cards for a HERO card? Don't you think that is jusssst a bit much? Especially since because well, y'know. Parallel World Fusion and Miracle Fusion exist yo. Maybe instead of on attack declaration, it actually has to kill the monster? because as it sits, it just laughs at mirror force.

3000 ATK because it was originally a Fusion from Captain Gold + Bladedge, both with 2100+ ATK so it made sense to give 3000 to a Fusion of both. Plus, it if is any lower, then it might gain bonus from Skyscraper when fighting other bosses (Grapha + Gates, BEWD, etc.), becoming an even stronger 3000+ ATK beater.

 

And laughing at Mirror Force or D. Prison was the idea, so you would still generate a plus even after losing this monster to those Traps and keep advantage. I agree in that it is a great perk, but, as far as I know, HEROes normally don't run Skyscraper nor Capt.Gold (or at least they didn't when Stratos was still around), so I would say this effect is more of an incentive, or reward, for playing those cards.

I could reduce the ATK or change the last effect so it triggers when it destroys a monster, but I would like to know first if such nerfs are actually needed.
