3 or more Level 6 monsters
Cannot be destroyed by battle except with "Number" monsters. This card gains 1000 ATK for each Xyz Material attached to it. This card cannot attack, except with its own effect. During your Battle Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; banish 1 random card from your opponent's Deck, and if you do, this card can make 1 attack during this Battle Phase. If this card declares a direct attack, halve this card's ATK. At the end of the Battle Phase, if you have used this effect previously during this Battle Phase: All cards that were banished by this effect are placed on the top of your opponent's Deck, also they cannot be used for the rest of the Duel. During your opponent's Standby Phase: You can pay half your Life Points; attach all the cards in the Graveyard(s) that this card detached during your last turn to this card as Xyz Materials. If this card is Xyz Summoned by Ranking Up "Number 5: Des Chimera Dragon", it gains this effect.
● Once per turn: You can attach 1 card from your hand to this card as an Xyz Material.

Used in today's ep by Vector and bought out by some new insane Rank-up Magic that does the Xyz Crown thing. There was no Number 5 involved at all.

Anyway, so all I have to say is... well what I said when I first saw this...

WHAT WHAT WHAT!?!?

Yeah...the first Chaos Number that ignored the original Number entirely, although we learned that Number 5 is logically a Rank 5. That we'll probably never see.

It's got so many seemingly ridiculous downsides, considering that it only was as powerful as it was because of Vector's new Rank-Up Magic. At the same time, the effects are ridiculous, as it can essentially force your opponent to dead draw multiple turns in a row, then replenish its Overlay Units and have massive ATK.

It's just an impractical card to use.

Few ways I can guarantee this'll change when it gets released:

-Gains ATK on summon instead of being a continuous effect
-Banish from Top of Deck, and not force dead draws
-OPT Banish and it attacks normally
-Remove Reattach effect (may keep hand attach effect)

Konami doesn't like huge walls of text, so they'll do what they can to simplify it. Presumably Number 5 would require 2+ Monsters and similarly boost its ATK, but I dunno. The whole thing is very weird.

Also, its summon marks the return of the Varian Gate.

...

Why did they tease the existence of a Number 5, only to ignore it?

No idea whatsoever, aside from episode time. The least they could have done was use the Rank-Up Magic to have Summoned Number 5, then promptly Rank it Up. But then that'd be about as bad, if not worse, than what they did.

I'm kind of hoping they'll use Number 5 at a different time, but that seems very unlikely. Just like the No.1-4 situation, we have no idea if any character even possesses Number 5. The Chaos Numbers are implied to be created/locked in the Barian World gate, so they don't even NEED Number 5 to use the Chaos Number.

Oh also, turns out Vector isn't a bad guy after all and was actually being manipulated by Don Thousand the whole time...

...

Fuck you YGO writers, you do this every single time! For once, please just for once, can the insane bad guy who's been trying to kill everyone for 100+ episodes just stay as the bad guy until the very end when they die, and not turn into a snivelling apologetic goody-two shoes and everyone just shrugs and goes "oh never mind it's all right" at the end? No! Is that too much too ask!?!

*rant*

Anyway, saw this on the wikia and lost all my junk in a frenzy of OMG. But now I've looked at it and it's... not... that... good...

Although making your opponent dead draw every turn looks funny as hell.

He's still guano insane.

I haven't watched the episode, I read the summary of it on the wikia.

Do you mean to tell me that I was misled?

I hope for that latter option!

Ps: Depending on IRL, go in Hazys? Although why go this when you can go Basilcock?

If you need to win the game NAO, you go for this as a massive beater. With a setup graveyard, one Rekindling makes this an 8k beater (3 Hydra), possibly 9k with Hazy Pillar.
Vector regained his memories, revealing he didn't kill his parents. Receiving his Over-Hundred evidently drove him crazy. On learning this, he did act reformed and seemed to make a play so Nasch could win right there, despite Don Thousand's adamant protests. As Nasch tried to finish him off, he reverted promptly to his usual mannerisms and used a Trap to protect himself and almost win.
So yeah...he was faking it.

Ah... I see.

Good, I was worried Zexal would have him turn back into Rei and be all-nice and try to be friends with Yuma and co at the end, just like Tron and Faker before him, and that would drive me mad. No, don't forgive him. Think of how many times he's tried to kill you! It's not alright! I know the show is for kids and should have a happy ending, and that'll come with the baddie getting his just desserts! Besides the real world is full of shits who try to crush your hopes/dreams, and the sooner little 'uns learn that the more prepared they'll be for it. :D

Sorry for off-topicness, but it just maddens me beyond belief.

To pull out absurdities like the Don Thousand RUM.
Also, this is probably one of DT's creations.

Probably Vector's actually. Still, because this exists, they're either gonna have to release Number 5 (which they'll likely do in some capacity anyway) or revoke its Chaos Number status.

...
INB4 Number 5 is one of PRIO's OCG-exclusives used in the Manga.

Speaking of betrayal, don't get me started on Episode 81 and how Yuma can completely trust Kotori after she was BRAINWASHED BY THE ENEMY.

Okay, so here it my attempt to consolidate this thing's effect into a smaller, more realistic effect given how recent cards have worked:

When this card is Xyz Summoned: it gains 1000 ATK for each Xyz Material attached to it. Once per turn: You can attach 1 card from your hand to this card as an Xyz Material. If this card declares a direct attack, halve all battle damage from that attack. If this card has "Number 5: Des Chimera Dragon" as Xyz Material, it gains this effect. ● Once per turn: you can Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; banish cards from the top of your opponent's deck face-down, equal to the number of Xyz Materials attached to this card.

You could also just have all of it be a generic effect, since this thing would be Summoned off Argent Chaos Force anyway.
